Firstly, the tacos are fully stuffed so the value is there. However, that is where the positive ends. I realize Hart is a secluded town in the middle of nowhere, the positive reviews for this place shows how secluded. I've traveled the country and this was hands down the WORST mexican restaurant I've ever been too, which says a lot because one in Mt Vernon Ohio was pretty bad, too. The "salsa". This doubles as the taco sauce. What it tastes like is the cheap taco sauce you buy at the grocery store and they added some freshly cut onions. I don't like onions, so it made it disgusting.
The taco meat had absolutely no flavor at all. Its so bland that it tops the white people mexican food at Beltline Bar in Grand rapids. No flavor. That was a shame because it has so much potential. I got the corn tacos, and the corn soft shells were pretty good, but the bland dry taco meat killed it completely.
I can't really say anything bad about the beans and rice. I don't think they're homemade, the beans tasted like they came out of a can, and the rice tasted like prepacked spanish rice. But, the flavors were on point where it should.
Will I be back? Probably not. A few changes to the tacos, and they could be banging though. Simple fixes, nothing too difficult would make the taco dinner amazing. But for this mexican food lover, I was so disappointed I almost cried.
But, for the price, it is quite filling. no disappointment from the size/value,...
Read moreWe didn't have a bad experience but the whole dinner left us wanting more. The service was efficient and polite. She was patient with us as we asked questions about the menu and was attentive afterwards. The dining room had a split personality, one side looking more like a wood fired pizza place, the other a older Mexican restaurant. The food was well, um ok. I've been at other places where you couldn't even eat the food, so there's that. I had a taco, an enchilada and a fajita taco. They deep fry the corn tortillas to make the tacos so that was unique and tasty. But the meat was bland, the tomatoes sliced long ways and not cubed, and little cheese. Sour cream optional with a price. My wife had fajita and they tasted sweet, almost like they were made with an orange juice marinade. Again, not bad food but not like the authentic Mexican food I'm accustomed to. So, if you need a Mexican fix not a totally bad choice. Just don't go in thinking "authentic Mexican" and you won't be...
Read moreWe use to come here every 4th of July on vacation with a large group of people to eat here for many years, but stopped coming over the last few years cause the service and food went downhill so we decided to give them another try so we stopped in today and no one even approached us while sitting at the table for a long period of time. A group of 4 woman were sitting there before we got there at a table next to us and they were in the same boat as us cause they were waiting, so we got up and left and went to the restaurant around the corner. We were serviced immediately and the 4 woman who was waiting before us at Lafiesta, walked in the door at the restaurant around the corner as well. The least someone could of done was approach us to say were short staff and someone will be with you. But we won't ever come back here again. Thats no way to...
