I've been here once before and the food and coffee is quite good and the prices reasonable, but after my second attempt today: the service is too slow and the space too small. Combined this means the tables all remain full while people wait to order. There is also no good seating option for single customers, so groups can and will come in and work together to have one person scoop up any open table while the rest wait in line at your expense.
I stood in line for 15 minutes without even getting to order before giving up because all the tables were grabbed by groups waiting in line BEHIND me and my choice was to either leave the line to wait to steal the next table and start the wait to order all over again, or stick in line since I was close to ordering but then have nowhere to sit.
I actually went for a walk and came back 20 minutes later to repeat the exact same experience.
If your space is this limited, you need to have a better solution, whether that's expansion or table service, I do not know.
I left frustrated and at this moment have no inclination to return...
Read moreVisited here on a Sunday and here’s the breakdown of my experience:
Service / Atmosphere: Walking in, the cashier/hostess greeted us well and walked us through the menu along with specials. Answered questions and very polite experience.
You pay upfront for your order and find a seating which can get a little trickier.
When our food arrived, it didn’t have any silverware so we asked for it to the server and were “pointed” to get it from the condiment/water table. It’s disappointing for an establishment that asks for tips on ordering and has zero service level beyond bringing food to the table. A better choice is to give the silverware and then show where to get it from. This left a bad taste from a service experience standpoint. Disappointing 2/5
Food: Our order of Pide, Lahmacun, & Turkish delight were delicious and nearly at par with what we had in Turkey. Mind the grease and salt to taste, it’s actually really...
Read moreWhat a delightful place! I was passing by and had time to kill and a need for coffee and a light breakfast, so I stopped in and ordered coffee and a white cheese pogaca. This was my first exposure to Turkish pastries and I was a little concerned that I wouldn't be able to find anything without tree nuts, but there's plenty in the case for Nut-allergic people like me. The coffee was delicious, light bodied with some interesting complexity, and fresh. The pogaca was fluffy and the cheese filling was tangy and delicious. The server was sweet, friendly and efficient, the coffee was great, and I ended up getting another pogaca for the road - it was that good! Atmosphere gets a solid 10 out of 10. The space is light and airy, with many surfaces covered with colorful painted tiles - very pretty. No music, just a low to moderate hum of conversation. I absolutely will return any time I am...
