I can not believe what I witnessed on Veterans day at the Filling Station. I watched as the bar tender threw a totally sober vet out and refused to serve the veteran a drink!!!! The bar tender was extremely rude telling the vet they were not welcome in the establishment stating that the vet had caused problems and the police had to be called. Well I found out another friend of mine was there the night the police was called and my friend said it was the bartender who was creating an issue not the vet and the vet was throw out that night too for no apparent reason. This place is a complete disgrace. The bar tender seems to be able to pick and chose who spends their money at this bar. I was ready to spend a couple hundred dollars there but saved my money instead. My friend said her and her husband was prepared to spend a bit of money there too but left because of the attitude the bartender had. Always a community spot, it has now become even more open and welcoming, and boast a new, ever-changing menu with everything from corn dogs to Belgian meatballs. Very friendly service, with the owners also working in the kitchen, behind the bar, and out on the floor, and they have kept well-known bartender Bobby on from the bar's previous era.
Prices are extremely reasonable, portions are filling, and quality is high for everything. The Filling Station has retained its iconic wood paneling and now boasts works from many of the town's artist population.

She stated she was across the street at the candy store? I was there for about an hour. Bartender kept leaving. The way the offered food was, "do you want food or not"? So I didn't order any.
