Zapatas Grill Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Hartsville

My husband and I have been going here for years, but this last visit was NOT good. My son who is allergic to beef and ordered chicken and I inquired about them cooking it separated and we were assured it was. So, my son bites in and spits the food out! It's Beef, he cries out!! He runs to the bathroom to wash his mouth out, his tongue had sensations in it and it was scarey. I wanted to call an ambulance as all advice is that if you experience any symptoms with mouth, tongue, throat you are to call ambulance. But he said wait. Thanks be to God he is okay! They made him a corrected chicken dish, we did not get a concerning apology or any assurances they would care for us, the waitress was only concerned that we understood it wasn't her fault, which we saw she was not at fault, but her not being at fault doesn't fix what happened! And that does not excuse her lack of concern for my sons health! Management nor owner concerned themselves with this most terrible mistake! I requested my vegetables that are grilled with my beef fajitas to be well done. They were not, the green peppers where crunchy. I collected them and asked they be well done, they came back virtually totalled. I felt they exaggerated it. The refried beans which are usually thick and edible with a fork, where truly thin enough to be considered bean soup. They were very busy, but that is no excuse for such errors! If you can't handle that much business take a few tables out and limit yourselves. Very Upset! Good Places are hard to...

This place is one of my favorites to eat at but not so much now. I came there on my lunch break one afternoon and I ate and drink my water. Then towards the end I looked in my cup(because I like to eat ice) and there was like this super long hair in my food. It wasn't mine, because my hair was braided this day. It had blonde on the end and my waitress had blonde tips. So my food was paid for at that time. So I told the manager and he told me that he only works one day a week and to talk to Pablo when I came back and he would discuss it with him. I literally eat there all the time. So it wasn't long before I came back. So this Thursday that passed my family and I ate there and my husband reminded me about the hair in my drink. Pablo was working, I asked to speak with him and my waitress had to go get him three times and it still took him an hour to come to my table.Then when he got there and I explained to him what happened and he didn't apologize or nothing he just said "I'll check on it" and he never came back never took the money off that the other manager promised(which wasn't a big deal) but I won't be coming back anytime soon. I really love the food and service.... unfortunately they have that 1 person to ruin it, has light brownish hair and is rude and seems to hate his job. He gave me the wrong food when I specifically told him what I ordered and he says to me well I have three of those, I said OK and I told him what I had which was beef with everything and that the person didn’t take my name and he says I never do 🤔 so I repeated what I had so then he just gives me a bag and walks away so then I read the ticket and it had nothing on it that I told him ( this ticket said shredded chicken) so I walked back to the counter and said I do not think this is mine he says well thats your fault I said how was it my fault I told you what I had and this is not what I told you and then he tells me it is my fault because I took the bag from him and he has so many orders 🤔but that is what he gave me. This is the point I requested a refund their was a guy waiting behind me as well as people eating and he talked so down to me and rudely it’s a shame!!
