chose this hotel because of the option to bring our 4 pound dog. I read reviews and although it didn't seem great. Reviews still rated good. I went with quality inn over Hampton. My first thought when driving up to this place was not good. The signage and gutters to the front building were falling off and pieces with some of it being o the ground. On the side of building near walgreens, there was caution tape hanging. Not sure if it was for prior work to the building or crime but it did not give off a safe feeling. When I went into the office to check in the extreme funk of musky oder slammed me In the face and made for an uncomfortable check in. The woman who checked me In Was EXTREMELY nice and helpful. When I got to the room i was assigned, the smell of cigarette was extremely strong. (We requested non smoking). We were so hungry we just began eating in the room and getting things out our bag. Once we were done eating. I started my inspection of the room. I had 2 top decor blankets with 1. What looked to be crusted toothpaste 2. An oil stain. 3. the curtain was extremely dirty with what looked to honestly be old dry blood. There was a covered up patched hole in the wall and holes in the tub where handle bars where missing. I tried to think how I could make this work because we were so tired, So I removed the two top covers and decided not to use those since they were dirty. But when I did... The cover that my kids would have used to sleep on had a huge pee stain and freaking tooth pick near it!! I drew the line there and went down to the office to request a solution. There was a new attendant on duty and she too was extremely helpful and apologetic and promptly issued me a new room. I asked her to come with me so I can show her all the issues, which she did. I will say that when I showed her the pee stain or stain, she stated that although there was a stain she assured me that it was a "clean stain". Ummm, clean or not, it is a stain and impressions are a seller for consumers. This was not acceptable. She showed me to a new room and walked it with me. I was impressed that there wasn't a smoke smell. However this room wasn't great. The sheets appeared to be better. Few "clean stains" on the top blanket but not the ones we plan to sleep on so I removed the top blanket. The attendant pointed out that this room's curtains had a few spots too but not as many. The floor was not the cleanest but it worked. I accepted this because we wanted our dog with us. In the future, I will board my dog and just get a much more well kept hotel. Overall, I would recommend this place to ONLY people WITHOUT kids and NEED to travel with their dogs and looking for cheaper price. OTHERWISE i would advise to seek cleaner hotels. I will leave the same review with the site I rented through and levae photos I have...
Read moreFirst let me say that this was not my first stay at the Quality Inn, it was my third. And each stay was a decline in comfort. Second, the staff is very friendly - nicest people you ever want to meet. Now, to the nitty-gritty! The CEO of this company needs to go on Undercover Boss so that he/she can get a feel of how the company is being run! When my husband and I arrived at our room, I had to use the bathroom terribly bad. I rushed in to fine a washcloth in the toilette, and a towel on the floor next to the toilet. This told me that the person who "cleaned" the room did not check behind themselves before leaving. We had to call to the front desk to have someone come and retrieve those and replace them with clean ones. Which brings me to my next point. I forgot my bedroom slippers, so I had to walk barefoot on the carpet. When I looked at the bottom of my feet, you would have thought I walked a mile in tar! The carpet clearly had not been cleaned in months, perhaps years. So, here's a little funny in the mist of all of this. We stayed at the hotel in May for memorial day. During that stay, husband took a sheet of paper from the information guide out to read it. He forgot to put it back. Get ready to laugh....we had the same room which we thought was kind of cute until we noticed that the sheet was still out of the book. From May until July, no one returned the paper to the book! (well maybe it's not that funny when you think about it. Also, I dropped a hairpin on the floor under the sink on our last visit, and yes, you guessed it...it was still there on our return! Next, we asked that our room be straightened up while we were out, and when we returned, the bed was made - on the top, but it was not made under the first set of blankets; the soap dish was dirty from the us washing our hands, so instead of cleaning it, they placed the new soap and shampoo on the other side of the sink and left the soap scum stained tray. Lastly, I called to the front desk, and the nicest young man answered the pone, but, the phone did not work so he couldn't hear me so I had to walk over to the office. The phone did not work on our last visit either. Oh, by the way, we were in room 112. Talk about disappointed. As much as I would love to stay there because of the convenience of the location, I just can't anymore. I would rather pay $30.00 more, and be inconvenienced location wise just to be comfortable and have peace of mind. Please Quality...
Read moreAll I can say is wow. I have never stayed at such a gross hotel and I've traveled alot. It is an affordable price at $80 a night BUT that doesn't mean it shouldn't be clean. I wasn't expecting a fancy top of the line room, but cleanliness is necessary no matter how cheap the hotel. Upon first arriving, I opened the door and immediately smelled old musty smoke, yet we got a non smoking room. The carpet has about 12 cigarette burns and is stained badly. Definitely don't walk on the carpet with no horseshoes on, your feet with be black and sticky. We brought Lysol and bug spray. I immediately went and got come clorox spray seeing the condition of the room. I wiped down all the furniture and my towel was black. There was a coat of dust and dirt on all tables, microwave and fridge were dirty. Two of the lamps didn't work. Now to the bathroom where things get worse, the sink had toothpaste residue splattered everywhere, from people brushing their teeth. The tray, coffee maker, and cups were coated in dust. When flipping my hair upside down to put it in a ponytail, I happened to look under the sink and the pipe was completely black with what looked like mold. And rusty. The toilet was covered in urine before we ever even used it. The shower curtain had mold spots all over it. And there was a roach in the bathtub. We quickly stripped the beds and put our own sheet and blankets down, after seeing the condition of the room we werent sleeping on those beds. Behind the front door on the wall was also a big spot of mold. I didn't even want to open and close the door because the handles were so sticky and dirty. The phone doesn't work when calling down to The front office, they can't hear you so you have to walk to The office. The ONE positive thing is the staff in the office...
