I really want to love Marty’s Corner Café, but lately it’s been hard to justify the visit. The sandwiches and breakfast burritos are honestly pretty average, especially considering the high prices they charge for them. They’re not bad, just nothing that stands out for the cost.
What’s even more frustrating is the wait time — it’s gotten noticeably worse over the past year. Even when the café doesn’t look that busy, it can take 20 minutes or more to get an order during the lunch rush. There always seem to be plenty of people working in the kitchen, but only one or two actually handling customers at the front. Maybe the kitchen is focused on catering orders, but it definitely slows down regular service.
That said, the one thing keeping me coming back occasionally is their Oreo muffins — they’re amazing, especially when grilled with butter. If everything else matched the quality of those muffins, this place would easily be five stars. For now, though, it’s just an okay spot with great baked goods and room for improvement...
Read moreI brought my daughter here on March 6th, 2023. Found a parking spot easily. When I went to get my daughter out of the car? What looked like the owner or manager? Began. To back up her suv next to my car but not into a parking space but into the space where the lines are to divide a handicap spot from the rest of the parking spaces. She apologized and said that she was just unloading. Upon entering the establishment, she( the same woman) immediately turned off the lights and told the staff that she only liked the front two lights on. She seems to nitpick about certain things in front of guests, which seemed inappropriate. I ordered from a delightful woman at the register. She helped guide us to what we should order and was very helpful. She then brought us our food at our table, and everything tasted great. Overall, it was a good experience. However, I felt bad for the tone the workers were spoken to. There are plenty of breakfast places around to...
Read moreWhat a hidden gem this place is. We live nearby but had never really heard of Marty's until recently. We stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday and got the southwestern chicken panini and meatball sub. The meatball sub was absolutely outstanding. Four large homemade meatballs with yummy sauce and plenty of cheese and a fresh toasted roll. Actually had to eat it with a knife and fork. Panini was also excellent. They also have a great selection of fresh baked goods of all sorts. Staff was friendly and service time adequate for the large number of customers. Highly recommended for...
