Had a terrible experience yet again. I come here about once a year for brunch. We came today for Easter brunch, and told the hostess we had a reservation who brought us to an outdoor table. On the online reservation we had selected that we’d like an indoor table. We told the hostess we had reserved an indoor table, and she said “no, an indoor table is not on your reservation.” We pulled up our reservation to show the hostess that it did, in fact, say INDOOR and all she had to say was “oh sorry about that” so we took the outdoor table because no indoor tables were available. This usually wouldn’t be a big deal, if it was a nice day, but today it was freezing and the heaters near us did nothing. My dad ordered a drink from the bar. It had 5 BUGS IN IT 🤢. 5 BUGS!!!!! So not sure if there is a food storage issue, but it’s ridiculous for there to be 5 bugs in one beverage. The wait for the food was ridiculously long. I ordered a crawfish etoufee omelette which literally came with no crawfish. Not a single piece! What a waste of $18 for a crawfish etoufee omelette that had ZERO crawfish. The steak that we requested to be cooked medium came out quite rare. On a more positive note, our server was incredibly kind and friendly. She did a fine job and quickly replaced the drink that had 5 bugs. I also usually think the food here is not so great (usually wayyyy too much black pepper for enjoyable consumption), but today’s brunch was tasty at least the cheese grits and...
Read moreI ordered the Fried Shrimp Dinner, but I was disappointed to find that the dish was served lukewarm. The lack of heat significantly affected my enjoyment of the meal right from the start. The shrimp themselves were decent; they had a light crunch from the batter, but they didn’t stand out enough for me to consider ordering them again in the future.
I usually enjoy crispy battered fries, but given that the entire dish was served at a less-than-ideal temperature, the fries fell flat for me as well—they were soggy and lacked the crunchy texture I look forward to. On a brighter note, the cocktail sauce was quite tasty, providing just the right amount of flavor, while I felt the tartar sauce could use a bit more zest to really enhance its profile.
My server, Kelsey, provided excellent service throughout my visit. She was not only friendly but also attentive, ensuring that my drinks were filled and that I was enjoying my meal, despite the issues with the food.
As for the atmosphere, it was moderately pleasant, but I found the seating arrangement a bit cramped. It felt as though my table was squeezed in too close to the other diners, making it difficult to enjoy my own experience without feeling like I was encroaching on theirs. I can appreciate that the restaurant must accommodate reservations, but it would be nice to have a bit more space to dine...
Read morePatio 44 is always my go-to, I went with my partner yesterday afternoon for a pre-movie lunch. Generally, the hostess is really professional, warm, welcoming— something that matches the setting. However, whoever hosted Monday afternoon just yelled, “Y’all come on!” from the patio. It was…off, but the food has always been wonderful so we still came in. She never asked for party size, she just told us to sit down somewhere, so we chose the back wall. The only highlight was Chloe, our server. She was fantastic. There was something floating in my partner’s drink, she handled it well. My partner asked if the highlighted meals were fan favorites & Chloe wasn’t sure, that’s 100% not her fault, but it’s a good idea to know your menu though. She’s been there a month, no biggie. Food was good, until we got to the end of the side of fries and there was hair on the bottom of the plate. That was gross. Chloe got it off the ticket, and she did amazing handling it. The entire visit was really disappointing, honestly. There was a lot of gross things happening that should not have. Honestly, after the hair in fries, we didn’t see the movie because I was really grossed out. I know things happen, but quality checking should be full force whether the restaurant is full or not. Doubt I’ll be...
