Jean's — Restaurant in Havelock

I cannot speak on food. I went here with my husband for a date night on vacation and I did not know it was a smoking bar. My husband left right after we walked in due to the cigarette smoke making me sick. I went to the bar to ask where the bathroom was and raised my hand until what appeared to be regulars got the bartenders attention. I offered for my husband to come in and get a drink to use the bathroom and was told water was $1 and I could have that and use the bathroom. Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to shoot pool. Only to be told that every member in our party (of which was 8 people) needed to become a member of their "club" pay 2$ just to walk in. Ok.. I guess. But one of our older gentlemen did not have an ID on him, he was NOT drinking, just was going to watch. And was told no ID, no entry.

I get having rules. But the place was EMPTY. We were literally the only ones there, and to turn off what turns out would have been several hundred dollars of sales seems odd.

So it is. Guess have your ID and 2$ handy if you expect to walk through the door....

Went to Jean's for a APA Pool tournament. Nice place. There are 7 7-foot tables. 6 of them gave great felt. Nice size dance floor but from what I was hearing they are looking to change that for a few more tables. Don't quote me though. It was day time so service was appropriate. Not sure if it is all the time, but it was cash only the day I was there. 3 stars for food because they had burgers and I didn't have one so it is hard to rate.

Has a good sized outside area. Lots of outdoor seating and a tiki bar outside.

All in all, pretty decent place. Wonder what it is like in...
