Ombra Byob — Restaurant in Haverford Township

Holy sugar, honey, ice tea! 1. Amazing food. One of the servers recommended the Azul chicken with such lust I'm his eyes that my friend went for it. She was not disappointed and housed that monster in the time it took me to tell an approx 6 min story. I had the phenomenal, delicate and scrumptious mushroom quesodillas. It hurts but I regret nothing. BYOB. One of the servers, super friendly guy with a neck tattoo was lovely and treated our beverages with care and helped kick our night off with a bang. Muchos gracias amigo! Helpful staff all the way around. The server, cute, tatted, hipstery twenty something that was so sweet and attentive. An awesome younger blonde that helped us stay hydrated and made sure we didn't need anything during our meal. Go chef! Whoever you are you were magical. Me, my husband, and our lovely out of state friend thank you for making a long Saturday worth it. Cheers!! If your on the fence just go to Vida. There is a parking lot that is free after 6 on weekends less than a block down the street. It's a cute street and you can do inside or outside. Will def come back for date night....

I had a rather unfortunate experience...and i really wanted to like this place more than I ended up doing, b/c it's nice to have a hip little restaurant BYOB in H-town.

Came here with one other person on a weeknight. Waitress was really cool and friendly. We ordered 4 dishes altogether to share -- 2 of them came out in a reasonable time...but when we finished those, we ended up waiting a good 20 - 25 minutes for the rest of our meal. We were provided no reason or explanation...only a quick "sorry" -- and we were the only people in the restaurant. I just feel like with such a small restaurant when you just have one table you could at least come out and apologize and explain the reason for the wait and offer some sort of compensation or solace...but that's me.

Food was good for the most part. Caesar Salad had a strange taste to it. And they were out of Coke, which i found a little bizarre.

I'd probably give it another go hoping that it was a one time snafu, but reading a few similar reviews not...

The food is actually unusual and very good, although in my opinion somewhat expensive. It's a relatively small space, and when we last visited it was extremely loud and disappointing (a party was going on and taking up half of the restaurant). My party of 6 could not hear each other over the volume on that day, this is the reason I chose to give Vida a 3 star rating. I have been here twice before this last visit, and did not have this issue. I would recommend that after making reservations call before your arrival to confirm that there will be no large groups during your visit. Definitely a place to go, but not during a time when there are large...
