The food is amazing, the problem is the stubborn owner.
What I ordered:
1 Baked Ziti /w Meatballs (Extra Charge), with the meatballs on the side 1 Baked Ziti /w Sausage (Extra Charge)
What I got:
1 Plain Baked Ziti, Meatballs on the side (correct) 1 Baked Ziti /w Sausage (correct)
What I was charged for:
1 Baked Ziti w/ Meatballs (Extra Charge) 1 Baked Ziti w/ Sausage (Extra Charge) 1 Side of meatballs (Extra Charge)
The problem: Doordash attached my "meatballs on the side" instructions to the sausage ziti. So the restaurant, understandably, thought it was an entire side dish order, and charged my card for it.
I called the restaurant and corrected the issue before they prepared the food. I did not receive any extra meatballs, just the ones that were included in the ziti (in a separate container). Problem Solved, right? Nope.
When i order, I was charged $2.25 to add the meatballs to the ziti, and then afterwards i was charged an extra $4.48 on top of that FOR THE SAME MEATBALLS. (This charged was initiated by the store, and they verified the charge to Doordash even after i called to fix the issue).
They knew full well that the charge was incorrect, and verified it anyway. That is fraud.
When I called back, the Owner of Hilldale's refused to reverse the extra charge, and stubbornly refused to even acknowledge the issue.
After explaining the issue to Doordash, they gave me a refund of $4.12 (which isn't the full amount, but its close enough), and gave me $12 in credits.
It's pretty sad when Doordash, who has a reputation for treating customers like garbage, managed to correct this issue better...
Read moreIf you want you food to come two hours after you place your order, than this is the place to go. I got a large cheese pizza and a wing dinner. The food was barely warm, fries and onion rings were soggy, I only had 6 small wings in a dinner plate (not worth the $10). I called an hour and a half after placing my order, and the girl said it will be here soon. 45 min later it showed up. I ordered online and it said it would be delivered in 30 min. I will never order from here again. It was not worth $25. The only good part was the delivery driver. He was nice and came up to my apartment and didn't just wait in the lobby.
Update: I called to make sure there wasn't an issue with the online ordering system. The "boss" told me they were busy so they didn't make the food right away. As I was talking he hung up on me. If you're going to take two hours to make food and deliver it, call your customer and tell them! Hanging up on your customers who are calling about an issue is so unprofessional. Listen to the complaint, and fix it so your other customers don't have...
Read moreTheir combo pizza is an absolute GEM. Dough texture was great: you can fold the cuts in half with 3 fingers and it'd be difficult, only because there was such a generous amount of toppings.
The green peppers, onions, and meat/sausage were cooked really well -- browned, crispy, but not burnt/dehydrated/shrunken. Sauce was seasoned. Cheese wasn't greasy. Price was right.
I had 2 leftover slices for lunch, from the previous night, unrefridgerated (but reheated, ofc), and they were STILL delicious. I've been disappointed by many pizzas in the past, so I didn't expect much from a local pizza joint. But I'm glad I had a craving and decided to try this place out. Keep up the good work, guys!
Also would like to add: I placed an order online and they kept their word about the pizza being ready in 15 min. Very nice and...
