Big Island Top Dogs takes the humble hotdog from a simple street snack to a culinary marvel, proving that amazingness can indeed come in a bun. From the first bite, it's clear that these aren't your average ballpark franks. Picture this: Each hotdog is a masterpiece, a fusion of flavors that is as bold and vibrant as the island itself.
The sauciness of their creations is not just literal—it's in the daring combinations and the quality of ingredients. Whether it's the locally sourced produce that adds a fresh crunch or the array of gourmet sauces that range from sweet Hawaiian pineapple to a fiery lava flow of spicy goodness, every element is thoughtfully chosen to create an explosion of flavor with each bite.
But what elevates Big Island Top Dogs to the realm of amazingness is the passion behind the grill. It's not just food; it's an experience. The vibrant setting, the aroma of sizzling hotdogs mingled with tropical scents, and the warm, welcoming spirit of the staff all contribute to an atmosphere that's as sunny and delightful as the island itself.
Their menu, a playful yet respectful homage to local flavors, gives both visitors and locals a taste of Hawaii in an unexpected form. Whether you're sinking your teeth into the 'Volcano Dog', with its spicy pepper relish and creamy avocado lime drizzle, or the 'Aloha Dog', a sweet and savory concoction topped with grilled pineapple and teriyaki sauce, you're in for a treat that's both comforting and exciting.
Big Island Top Dogs doesn't just serve hotdogs; they craft moments of joy, wrapped in Hawaiian hospitality and served with a side of aloha spirit. It's not just amazing; it's a taste of...
Read moreIve heard some good things about the place and decided to check it out. First timer and the customer service was great. A very big mahalo to Brooke who was very helpful and patient as I asked many questions and tried to figure out what to order. They've got a variety of hot dogs and burgers where you can either build your own creation or try one of theirs, some plate lunches, and a brunch menu thats served from 10am-12pm Tuesday to Friday and all day on Saturday. They've also got a few dessert selections as well.
I ended up ordering the borinki plate (2 scoops gandule rice, pastele stew and sausage, and a scoop of potato mac salad), a side order of their spudzilla fries (garlic aioli, cheese, bacon, mushrooms, sour cream, chives, and crispy garlic), and their chantilly brownies (4 brownies topped with chantilly). I was at first skeptical of their pastele stew and sausage, but with the first bite I fell in love. First time in a long time that I mopped a plate like this so fast. Their spudzilla fries are amazing. I got mine without their crispy garlic, my own preference, but I was not disappointed at all. Slightly on the salty side, but it's still great. Last but not least, their chantilly brownies. Talk about heaven in your mouth. I was told they also had chantilly banana bread and now I wish I had gotten some of those too. I cant wait to go back and try other items off...
Read moreI’ve been meaning to try Big Island Top Dogs for a long while. Finally got my chance last week. First I want to say the service is VERY friendly. Very welcoming. I ordered the chili cheese dog with fries. Both were very delicious though I think I like the Saucy Dog chili a little bit better but nonetheless, it was very good here at top dog. The fries were hot and seemed homemade. The interior is really quite fun and playful. Business seem to be steady. I know this is a local place and I’m sure it has many regular customers. also, the menu has a lot of other delicious sounding items, but I am excited to try in the future. The Good: great hotdog lots of other choices on the menu. Services excellent atmosphere was fun. The Bad: parking might be a bit challenging during busy periods, but other than that, I can’t think of anything else. ChancesI ’ll be Back: YES! I really enjoyed the hotdog here and I wanna try some others plus other things...
