Weâve brought 3 cars from Honda over the past years, and have enjoyed every experience! Todayâs experience was even more special because of how things got started. I called Honda to look for my go-to guy, and was so sad to find out he retired! (We miss you Steve!)- BUT, Jarret took it upon himself to talk with me and make me feel so comfortable! I requested working with a female sales associate and Jarret informed me that though their female sales associate was off today, heâd go and talk with her and have her call me back to see if she could accommodate my request to test drive TODAY at 4pm. He was so reassuring.
Brittany called me back speedily and was so friendly and asked all of my questions and even made herself available to meet my family and I. We are not strangers to the Tony Honda Hilo crew so when we came, we were greeted with so much aloha from Brittany, Marc, Jarret, and the many others who know us! The entire process was so seamless as usual and efficient. Brittany went above and beyond in her efforts to get me the brand new car I wanted and answered all of my questions with such grace, technical details, and professionalism. She and Marc also went above and beyond to get me financing options at a lower cost than I anticipated paying! The âalohaâ spirit is always alive and well at Tony Honda Hilo and thatâs because the crew perpetuate that so clearly! They stayed with us every step of the way and wrapped up all paperwork so I could drive my brand new 2025 Hybrid CRV off the lot on the SAME DAY (today)- even staying into the night to get things done and sorted!
Brittany, you are amazing and are such an asset to the Tony Honda team and our community. Weâd like to send a special mahalo to Brittany, alongside Marc (whoâs helped us for the past couple years and are so grateful to him too) for always putting our needs first and making us feel so comfortable! We are so grateful to have yet again our THIRD reliable Honda to call our own, and even more fortunate to go through such an easy process each and every single time!
I highly recommend working with Brittany and the team at Tony Honda Hilo! They all are incredible!
Mahalo Brittany, Marc, Jarret and team! Weâre so glad to be part of the Tony...
Read moreIn mid-August took our 2022 CRV to Tony Honda for regular service. The next day received a message from somebody named Jarret from Tony Honda about buying our vehicle. He offered us $25,900 up to $27,200, maybe more depending on the condition of the car. (At the time, less than 11,900 miles, no blemishes inside or out, garage kept, and regularly serviced by Tony Honda; they knew the car.) Wife and I talked it over, so on Sept 15, Honda received an HRV LX with AWD. Tony Honda called us about it. We went to see it and liked it. On the corporate Honda website, the HRV with the floor mats we wanted had an MSRP of $28,500. MSRP is Hondaâs price point where both Honda and the dealership make a profit. Maybe not a whole lot, but a profit. When we tried to make a deal, we were quoted $34,700. Not including taxes or registration. When we questioned that price and showed the salesman the Honda website price, he claimed that was for the mainland and did not apply to Hawaii. Even the cost to register the vehicle was inflated - $575 dollars rather than the actual cost of $200. (I had done my research.). They even had an Adjusted Market Value add-on of $2,995. And had added a Tony Honda Pro Pack of approximately $1,400. (We had gotten it on our CRV and were very unimpressed. Just not worth it.) All the salesman was willing to do was take $1,500 off the Adjusted Market add-on. Then we spoke about our trade in. All of a sudden, without inspecting the car, the trade in value dropped from âup to or more than $27,200â to $23,000. Why? As we were told, Jarret is in Honolulu (he works in Hilo at Tony Honda), and his offer was from a month ago and no longer good. Remember, Tony Honda reached out to us to buy our car. We were not walk-ins. The salesman not only tried to gouge us, he flat out lied to us. And the offer for our car was the classic âbait and switchâ. I cannot recommend buying a car from Tony Honda. If I could give zero...
Read morei just got my car from tony honda in hilo 3 months ago. i took my car in to them because my mileage screen stopped working all of a sudden. they looked at it, checked if there was any damages and there werenât. the service people said since there werenât any damages done and it stopped working on its own that my insurance will cover it. So i left my car with them during that time jus for them to give it back to me and tell me i need to come back when they can order my new screen. waited for them to get back to me, and they didnât. i had to call and ask them about it again just for them to tell me that my insurance isnât gonna cover and if i buy a whole new screen which is around $2,000 dollars they could put it in but its not a 100% chance that my mileage will show up on it. so basically we tried talking to everyone that we could, from the person who sold me the car to the manager and the boss to see why they cant cover it or why my insurance cant cover it and all they kept telling me was Iâm sorry we cant help you. now with all of this being my safety check is due this month, and i canât safety check it with that screen not working since i cant see my mileage. i only paid for my car twice since i got it, and i took it in about this problem before i even had to make my first payment for this car. i have 2 year warranty on this car, but they said it only can cover the âfrontâ problems of the car meaning engine, oil, etc. like is my screen not a part of the âfrontâ of the car? but still till today they haven't tried to help me in any way, havenât tried to make me a happy customer who just bought my first ever car from them. I know this is a lot but i just wanted to share my experience so other people who think about going to tony honda in hilo to buy a car can really...
