BE AWARE Takenoko has a reservation list that is usually booked out a year in advance (i.e. by summer 2017 they had already booked all of jan-june 2018). The books are open for reservations on two days during the year, once in July and once around Christmas. Call ahead to confirm when they will be taking future reservations. You can sign up for the waiting list.
That being said, well worth it. Bring an appetite and a taste for exploration. The menu can vary, exceedingly high quality sashimi and 🍣, the ochazuke is fantastic, save room for desert. Bring whiskey (if you wish) to share with Mitsugi. A slice of simple delight every time we are lucky enough to have a table. Best sushi I have ever had....

Kumamoto oysters, Hamachi Collar, Salmon Belly, Toro Nigiri and Torched Hotate are just a few of our go to favorites. Always clean, always delicious, always...

(which I do not stand in line for either). Absurd system, but I guess it...
