I dined here for my first time on the 4th of July. Expecting it to be bustling because of the views as well as the holiday, I made sure to snag reservations a full week and a half in advance as I had planned to dine outside. Thankfully we snagged the last outdoor table when we arrived. Although my table wasn't placed exactly next to the falls, the atmosphere of the main dining deck was airy, inviting and charming. Our server, Allison was cheerful, knowledgeable of the menu and punctual to our table yet understanding exactly how we wanted to space out our time dining. She graciously informed us upon arriving that we were free to move about the different decks as we pleased to take pictures and enjoy the atmosphere, which was an unexpected but obviously very welcome surprise. I took her up on that offer later, after a few tables had cleared and I'm so glad I did. The backdrop of cascading waterfalls, mixed with the subtle summer breeze off the mountain does nothing less than add to the ambiance and elegance of each plate that was set out before me. I started off with the Jalapeno Margarita, which Allison was kind enough to suggest on the rocks, since I didn't think straight up would've been pleasant due to the heat. Good call Allison. A delightfully refreshing (and palate tingling) cocktail that left me wanting a few more after I left. Accompanying my drink, I had a charcuterie board with Boar Soppressata, Lomo and Culkin's Creamery Vampire Slayer. All of which were absolutely delicious, as were the accompanying adornments to the board. Thanks to Glass, I now have to order that cheese or I won't be able to rest. Next, I ordered the Patatas Bravas, which struck right to my comfort food loving heart. Fried chunks of potatoes smothered in Queso Blanco, Guanciale and sprinkled lovingly with Aleppo. I found myself mindlessly mopping the dish clean afterwards with the little hidden bits of Guanciale. Following that was the Stuffed Clam, which I paired with a flamboyant little cocktail dubbed The Sazarac 2.0. A little but mighty drink of Rye with a luxurious Absinthe foam adorning the top, which slowly creeps it's way down into harmony with the Rye as it sits. This paired exceptionally well with the afore mentioned Stuffed Clam, in a way that didn't outshine the flavor of the stuffing whatsoever. It's true you could probably get a stuffed clam at many places in the area, but there was a consideration for difference in flavor that was very apparent here. Cheesy, and if I'm not mistaken, an accompanying tomato element of sorts, that pulls the stuffing together with the clams fabulously. Finally, I ordered the Cubano Shrimp. The true star of the meal. The grits were indescribably unctuous and rich with cheese. The combination of Espana Sauce, charred peppers, and sofrito saute base made each element of the dish marry together in pure nirvana, while simultaneously bringing life to each one individually. It was such a hypnotic dish, I ended up saving some for home. I ended the night with a Saranac Blueberry Ale, which helped digest every delicious thing I had just eaten as I walked around the decks, which are just as gorgeous at night. You can't see any fireworks from here, but honestly, even if I could've, the food and drinks would've stolen my attention anyway. I took cake truffles to go, a trio sampler of Strawberries and Cream decorated in red white and blue for the holiday, cookies and cream, and pina colada. I ended up eating them the next day, and I don't even have words to describe how many more of them I could eat if they were in front of me. Highly recommend them as a dessert. Without a doubt, definitely will be returning here. Stellar service, incredible food, and gorgeous atmosphere and...

I checked the reviews and they seemed OK, except for some people complaining about the service. It was totally opposite for us. The service was great and the waitress was friendly, helpful and accommodating. I saw the prices, and I was ok with it given the location, hotel and the way it was displayed, but we were not OK with the quality and taste of the food served. If you can imagine a Jersey Shore boardwalk fish fry food stand beautifully displayed in an elegant setting, that's what we got. First we ordered the drinks that we had to return twice. The bartender couldn't even make a Shirley Temple for a child. It was red water with cherries. The Mojito was some what similar, but green. I ordered the signature Old Fashioned and it was again watered down. No taste in any of the beverages. My wife eventually asked for a glass of wine since "how can they screw that up". For appetizers, we ordered stuffed scallops, calamari, zucchini blossoms and porcini & roasted garlic fonduta. The scallops came on a large shell, but the scallop itself was tiny surrounded by tons of breading, you can only taste the bread crumbs. Calamari and the zucchini blossoms had so much batter that the taste of the original ingredient was missing, the only thing you could taste was the batter and the sauce it was served with. The fonduta (fondue) was extremely bitter and we could not taste the mushrooms or the garlic. The focaccia it was served with was OK. I decided to order the fried chicken & waffles, bad decision. Again, the chicken batter was thicker than the chicken itself and it was drenched in maple syrup which was so overwhelming that the taste of the chicken was totally gone. I didn't try the waffles since there was enough bread on the chicken. My 7-year-old son did not have any kids menu (non-existent) options, and the only item available was some obscure pasta with butter that was undercooked (not al dente) and cold. Chicken tenders were not available that night. I don't know how any hotel or a restaurant could leave out options for kids. When I made reservations, I mentioned that it was a birthday dinner and the staff suggested that they will note the reservation and bring out a dessert with a candle, but of course the was not done and I was already so frustrated with the dinner that I did not remind them. Total bill for two adults and a child was $260.00 (including tip). Again I wouldn't mind if the food and drinks would have been worth it, but it wasn't. Great location, beautiful decor and setting, but how can management and culinary staff destroy it by providing Fast Food quality, I don't understand? Very sad and disappointing. Total waste of a venue!!! Will not recommend...
Read moreAte here as part of the "Fire and Ice" package offered by both the Settlers Inn and Ledges. We (My boyfriend and I) were given a generous voucher for dining and drinks. We ordered tapas style and had a little bit brought out at a time. I wouldn't say there was a wrong way to order but we probably could've been more logical in our food pairings.
From the snacks and bites menu we chose the Chorizo Gouda Dip. My boyfriend always says "Never doubt anything with cheese in it" and he was right. It was very well prepared and had just the right amount of everything to not have it be too cheesy, too meaty or too spicy. Our waitress was also very accommodating and allowed us to switch out the traditional tortilla chips that come with it for bread instead (we highly recommend it for a much more filling meal).
From the chefs plates we ordered the Ricotta Gnudi. The broth was very flavorful as was the entire dish the ricotta was also "just right". There wasn't too much done to it and when you mixed the broth with the Swiss chard and ricotta, it paired very well.
From the cheese and charcuterie section we ordered the "Three Sisters" cheese and the duck salami. Now, I've had duck in several different ways at many places and don't like any of them, the salami included... my boyfriend seemed to enjoy it though. I really enjoyed the cheese as well. It was a blend of goat, sheep and one other cheese which I can't remember but paired with all the other offerings on the plate it went well with most.
From the butchers block we ordered the hanger steak which was good as expected. Cooked medium rare but still had a taste to it that I still find appealing (my boyfriend likes his steak barely cooked but we both found it enjoyable). I am having a thing for pickled onions at the moment so I was very happy to pair it with the steak as opposed to sautéed or steamed.
From the side plates we ordered the Panade and the Louisiana Style Rice. Both were okay but not great. I definitely enjoyed the Panade more though. I saw cheddar cheese and got nervous because usually people put too much rather than too little but the chefs at Glass did not. I was hesitant to get the Louisiana rice because I mean we are in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania and to assume that the rice is actually going to be Louisiana style was a stretch. It wasn't. It was just very tomato-ey tasting white rice.
Overall I would definitely return to Glass. Service was great, the view was exactly as demonstrated in the photos. Ambiance was fantastic. We didn't get drinks but they do have an extensive selection of beers, wines, and spirits (all are local/domestic) too! I am excited to plan my next trip to Hawley,PA and return to try everything else we didn't get...
