Cocoon Coffee House — Restaurant in Hawley

Not a kid friendly atmosphere at the open mic, terrible experience my children were both nothing but well-behaved the whole time but were ridiculed by a couple people in the audience and apparently awkwardly being parented by asking if they were going to behave by the guy running it and he even asked them twice if they really wanted to be there. I can't believe I actually hyped this place up the way I did. I am a musician that represents mental health awareness and this is not the venue I choose to frequent anymore. I didn't even know about this situation until after I played. I wish my wife could have told me about this ridiculous behavior before I plugged in because I wouldn't even have played here at all. This is not her fault but their fault!!!! You people should be ashamed of yourselves. It is also VERY obvious that this open mic is way below my level. This place is not worth my time or effort and is nothing but an extreme example of what I am fighting against through music. I am sick and tired of people putting other people down especially children!!!!! Don't let that pretty building fool you people because it is oozing with hatred and negativity.and the guilty swear their innocence quick in the comments 🤣 this place...

my boyfriend and i had gone to cocoon a couple months ago during the summer. there was a line wrapped all the way around the inside of the building but we decided to stay as we really wanted to give it a try. we waited over an hour and got 2 lattes and breakfast burritos which were very good. yesterday we were in the area again and decided to give it another try since it didn’t look very busy and we were incredibly disappointed. we waited over 40 minutes for two lattes and for a burrito and sandwich even though there weren’t many people there. it just seemed so disorganized and as soon as the manager stepped out to restock on some items the staff took out their phones, stood around talking and stopped working. if there weren’t customers waiting an hour for a microwaved burrito or a $7 latte that’s fine but it was very frustrating to see. finally we received our drinks and food and took it to go. they were good but not good enough to wait that long. when i finished my latte i had noticed a black dot in my ice and took a closer look only to find out it was a frozen fly! needless to say we regret giving this overhyped place...

Incredibly rude staff. I came in to order a coffee on Saturday 10/11 at around 2:30pm. I ordered a hot pumpkin latte and proceeded to wait for my coffee. The older female barista put an iced drink down and called my name and when I asked “is this the pumpkin latte?” before I could even complete the sentence and she yelled my name 3 times at me like she didn’t want to be bothered and then said “it’s for Sam- if that’s what you ordered that’s what you get”. I then said “I’m sorry I ordered this hot” where she then didn’t say anything, took the drink back, found the order ticket and waved the ticket in my face and said “no you ordered it ice, you see it here?” and I said “I didn’t, I ordered it hot”. Then she had to ask the cashier if I ordered it hot before remaking it in which the red hair cashier said “yeah that’s a possibility”. She then proceeded to make my drink and slammed it infront of me without an apology or even saying if it was for me. I’ve been here before, the coffee is good but this barista was incredibly rude and nasty so I won’t be coming back...
