My Panecito - Gardena — Restaurant in Hawthorne

I would definitely give them a 4 it is a cute little place and I went with a friend who told be about it (she saw it on Tik Tok) so we were excited to see what all the rev was about. I brought some home for my husband and I to taste and my friend bought a LOT to take back to her family to taste so I am wondering what her thoughts are because she is probably more familiar with traditional Mexican bread and sweets. I am not a big fan of conchas in general so my opinion is probably not the best. I thought the Oreo concha was extremely sweet and did not taste like Oreos just a lot of sugar and cinnamon which is not a bad thing but was not what I expected. It did come to me warm and fresh. Everything smelt so good and everything is baked all the time. I also got a "New York" style cheese cake...it did not taste like a New York style cheese cake BUT it was good...I would start calling it "LA cheese cake" because it did have a twist of LA in there. It was not overwhelmingly sweet which I personally enjoy. Then they gave us each a free slice of peppermint cake which...(again) really did not taste like peppermint. It had rich cheesecake frosting (which I liked) shavings of white chocolate (again I liked) not to sweet (good because them conchas are insanely sweet LOL) and overall was a good piece of cake. I'd rename it the "Holiday" cake because it did have a piece of candy and the it was layered perfectly with holiday colors very pretty. (PRETTY) and THANK YOU. It Just did not taste like peppermint which actually probably is better because that could get to be too much. I had a decaf coffee GREAT! I can't have caffeine so I was happy. I only had them put milk in it because that's a lot of sugar SOOO if you are complaining about sugar it is a PAN Bakery PEOPLE COME ON just make sure your choices are good. The guy at the register was super nice he seemed new and that's okay because we are all new at something. The older female was kinda removed...not rude but not really friendly. Prices are fine went on a Saturday but not crowed at all. Parking is rough...I have a big truck so I had to park on the street. Still it is okay. I think this place has great potential for some improvements, nice neighborhood cafe & bakery, fresh, clean, CUTE, wonderful for the culture and the people. I will definitely be back because there is a huge variety plus gift bags (great for holiday parties) of pastries that I want to try for me...

I don’t typically write bad reviews for food establishments but the service I received at Panecito Gardena was poor without reason. I ordered a caramel espresso and my drink took over 20 minutes to receive (only after reminding the staff that they forgot make my order). At least 4 patrons that ordered after I did received their orders prior to myself. Once I did remind the staff that I had yet to receive my drink, no one wanted to take accountability for skipping my order. The woman that initially took my order kinda vanished to the back without telling anyone I placed an order I suppose? I don’t really know what went wrong communication wise with the employees, but staff should strive to ensure customer satisfaction if they want returning patrons. However, I will give them 2 stars because the employee that ultimately had to make my drink did do a good job despite having to satisfy an order he didn’t initially take/was unaware of. I’m pretty disappointed all around because I have been to this location before and I don’t know why service has grown lackluster. An apology or acknowledgment that a mistake was made could’ve bypassed this...

The posted Pic was the first time we went. My son enjoyed it. Our drink was good 🔥 the person who helped us was helpful and friendly and we had a great experience. On Sat 5/18 We took a drive and went back. Unfortunately, our experience was totally the opposite I communicated precisely what my son and I wanted I took my phone and showed the cashier . When we got our drink it wasn't what we expected. I went to cashier I told her. She then stated we don't serve them that way anymore. We'll that's the reason we went based on last visit and other recent IG posts how they are served based and being differentand or unique mainly for my son. If it was changed communication is essential before at the register and if it was extra I would of mind paying. This was also communicated. We didn't even get a straw for the drinks, so by the time we arrived home, we just threw them away . I attempted to message them through their IG page til this day they have not replied back. My issue is don't post something and not served that way and dont try to fix it atleast for my son .Don't think I...
