I very rarely leave reviews and, when I do, they are positive ones. I lead with that because my family’s experience with this veterinary office has been so negative that I felt the need to write this review. My dog has been a regular patient there for some time, visiting regularly mostly due to her recurring ear infections. I was told by Dr. Rawa that the ear infections were due to seasonal allergies, and that there was nothing we could really do to prevent them. I simply had to bring her in every time for treatment, and I did.
A few days ago, my dog’s ear infection started up again. Every time this happens, it is painful and uncomfortable for her, so I take her to the vet. This time (like I have done in the past), I asked my mother to take her as their limited hours did not coincide with my work schedule. Asha, who I believe is the Office Manager / owner, was rude and disrespectful to her. Having read the reviews before mine, I regret not reading them sooner. Asha also refused to provide my mother with ANY of our pets’ medical records (my brother takes his pets there as well). When the staff member at the front desk told the manager that my mother requested the records, Asha yelled “No service!” and slammed the door to the back office behind her. We found another local vet with a better reputation and took my dog there instead. During her consultation, the vet informed me that my dog’s ears were so bad that he would have to sedate her to try to clean her ears out as best he could. Long story short, I regret trusting this place with my dog’s care. She is now wearing a cone for the next two weeks and has a few upcoming follow ups. The vet told me that, if this got any worse, she would lose her hearing withing the next couple of years. She is only 6 years old!
My point here is this: every time I asked Dr. Rawa if there was anything I could do to prevent my dog’s ear infections, or if there was another (more effective) treatment we could explore, he told me that it was just allergies and would charge me roughly $250 per visit per treatment. Asha denied my mother’s request for our pets’ medical records when, in the State of California, under Business and Professions Code section 4855, the veterinarian is obligated to provide you with a summary of the patient record.

Read moreThey were absolutely horrible! First I checked in with them at 1:00pm was not seen until 2:00. When I entered no one greeted themselves nor addressed my dog except one lady and she never came back into the room. They immediately after weighing him put a muzzle on him and held him down to take his temperature. After ONE real try they then proceeded to try through his rectum. Once they completed that they continued to hold him down to comb him which made my doggy very uncomfortable because one, he’s in a room full of strangers, and two they immediately started to man handle him without him getting to become familiar with them. After trying to continue to comb him and hold him down my doggy broke out of the muzzle and tried to get away. At this point EVERYONE in the room became terrified of him and no longer wanted to access him without sedation. I was then told to put the muzzle back on him myself and I had to lift and put him back on the table. ( I also herd a lady in by the front desk say “what can she not handle her dog”, because mind you they left the door to the front desk open which also had 4 other people in there along with the three in the actual room) By this point everyone has checked out of physically trying to help him and made it clear that he would have to come back the next day for sedation if we wanted to resume with treatment because he would be sedated for the next 12 hours. The price for one antibiotic shot, at home antibiotics, cortisone shot, and the cleaning of his wounds would cost $508 and with sedation it would be more! I asked if they could just give me the at home antibiotic for me to administer myself and I was rudely told yes, but there’s a possibility it may not work??? This was not my first time here but it will definitely be my last, the entire staff is a joke, the only kind people is the lady who introduced herself, and the guy who was holding my doggy down, as he was not afraid of him but understood his guard was up due to his recent encounter with some raccoons which is why we were at the vet in the first place. If your doggy has trauma and needs REAL CARE do not go here. They can not and will not help you without having a...
Read moreI'm not bashing the veterinarian, rather the staff. Called to explain my situation a day in advance, was given a time to show up (appointment) instead I got there and front desk person told me that I had to wait upwards of 2 hours. I explained that I couldn't wait so long but she didn't budge. Then she started telling me about the price of consult. Perfectly fine, then she proceeded to tell me about other cost related to the care of the treatment, two purposes: up selling, and trying to fish to see if care to wait and pay probably an outrageous price. Then she started telling me that it might take longer than 2 hours, perhaps 3 to 4. Remember the appointment? I waited 2½ hours, checking every so often in the parking lot, because she shushed me out of the lobby (passive aggressively) mean time I waited in the car with the A/C running to keep animal comfortable. After a long wait and one of the many times I checked my position on the waiting list, I noticed that my name was skipped and people that got there after I did were seen first or were with the vet already. She noticed and quickly removed it from the counter. I asked for her name but she declined to answer, ignored the question. Last time I went in to check on she told me that there were 2 patients in front of me, with even checking the chart. She then proceeded to say that they close for lunch at 12:30 and I might have to wait until after lunch or the following day (sounds like an appointment to me) rude, unapologetic heartless person, even the other receptionists were kind of raising an eyebrow over the interaction. Do yourself a favor, and find another vet office, I'm sure other customer interactions are probably more positive than mine. But remember some people don't question even when they are being misdirected or misquoted. Is not the receptionist job to give medical treatment advice, but rather the professional, is a matter between patient and doctor. Better go somewhere else... Wasted almost 3 hours, didn't get a...
