Montana Nugget Casino — Restaurant in Helena

The food was excellent, the decor was kind of boring, the service was good, but the main reason I'm reviewing this place is the cook, or "chef" as he described himself was just awful. After I ate my food I went outside for a cigarette and while I was outside he proceeded to tell me his life story. Without being mean I listened for a while, but had to cut my smoke short because the guy just smelled awful. I asked him if he cooked my food and he told me no, another guy did as he was about to clock on. I gambled for about 10 minutes and went outside for another smoke break when once again he trailed me outside. This time he told me his schedule and said come in on his shift and he would "hook me up". I was still nice to him but I was thinking to myself I wouldn't let this guy poor me a drink let alone cook me food. I will never eat here again, especially because this guy informed me he would be the kitchen...

Just love the good ol hometown Nugget. Can we all say holy nostalgia ?! That place is a Helena landmark. Always good food no matter the time of day, good people always there to take care of ya, and obviously love the homey atmosphere. Gotta give much love to Danette the night server and casino runner ! Serving Helena's patrons for 15 years ! She serves up the best smiles, and carries on a great conversation that'll make you feel right at home. No matter the hardship or troublesome times she may be facing in her personal life, she trucks along each day doing her best to make someone else's day better than it was before they walked in and sat at her table. Always frustrated that this thing doesn't have a half or quarter star rating. I would give this a 4.5. I don't give 5's, they're impossible.

The most valuable asset to a business is the staff. That's what makes this place so great. Their customer service is amazing! (minus the one or two obligatory Interlopers that always have a negative outlook on life... but hey, everybody deserves a chance, right?)

Great hospitality and food, however not the best selection of beer on tap. It's a great spot for locals to hang out. In general, it's a laid-back crowd so don't bring your drama.
