Review - Brewhouse Pub and Grill - 8/25/2025 For todayâs ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eating Out) Club we explored an area of town that weâve never experienced before. Our family drives past this restaurant on our way to and from church. The building looks really small on the outside, but once youâre inside it opens up like Snoopyâs doghouse. Itâs huge inside! The decorations are a mixture of vintage signs and posters. There was a motorcycle tastefully hanging from the ceiling, but this is not a biker bar. Itâs very much a family friendly restaurant inside. The architecture reminded me of a Red Robin Restaurant.
As we entered through the somewhat darkened entryway we were cheerfully greeted by the hostess. In fact, it seemed like all of the staff were friendly and were happy to be working there. Thatâs a good reflection on management.
The background music was fairly soft. I think it was country music, which is not surprising, given the fact that weâre in the heart of Montana. It wasnât loud enough for me to sing along with, (if I knew ANY country songs) but was just loud enough to be pleasant.
Otto commented on how nice the menus are, and itâs true. They clearly spell out the options and the prices without having too many brain-numbing choices.
Otto chose the All New Blues Cruise Burger, (love the name) a half-pound burger with jalapeĂąos, avocado, and blue cheese crumbles. He upgraded his fries to onion rings, which he didnât love. âToo much stuff on them,â meaning that he didnât care for the batter on the outside. So he gave me his last couple rings and I loved them. They were very thick and delightfully crispy.
However when I asked about his burger he simply replied, âPhenomenal.â
I ordered the Afterburner Burger and upgraded my fries to stuffed tots. The Afterburner Burger is a half-pound patty with jalapeĂąos, pepper jack cheese, and their own sesame fire sauce.
My potato upgrade included 4 jumbo tater tots stuffed with cheddar cheese, bacon, sour cream, and a hint of chives. They were served with BBQ sauce for dipping.
We were pleasantly surprised by how quickly the food arrived.
First impressions are important and our first impression when our food arrived was, âThose are big burgers!â I struggled to open my mouth far enough to get a first bite. (Not that I have a small mouth or anything.)
Our server Tyler did an excellent job making sure that everything was good and keeping my coffee cup full. His friendly, efficient demeanor contributed to our wonderful dining experience at the Brewhouse Pub and Grill, and weâll definitely be returning for...
Read moreThe food was decent...once we received it. Party of 4 visiting from out of town for a conference. Promptly and courteously seated. Drinks ordered and served appropriately, orders taken...done. So we wait... and we wait... and we wait...
waitress heads over and notifies our table that it will be a few moments longer -- we glance around at each other and notice it's been a good 40 minutes since we ordered our food and notice that other tables around ours have been served and are well into their plates of steaming food. My stomach rumbles.... We continue to wait... Another 5 minutes pass and I notice our waitress is speaking to another gal that works for the Brewhouse but is wearing a different colored shirt...I hope they are discussing our situation and I wait, thinking to myself ok they realize the unprofessional event playing out and want to amend the situation... Oh ho ho was I mistaken...
Another 5 minutes pass --- I ask the waitress (as she passes by with another table's steaming plate full of food) may I speak to a manager? She replies and I notice her speaking to the same gal in the different colored shirt. At this time the gal in the different shirt brings us our food and asks if we need anything else?
My coworker states "no now that we finally have our food" I state "no but it did seem to take an awfully long amount of time for our food to arrive...." the gal in the different colored shirt replied that everything is made from scratch and nothing is prepared in less than 30 minutes.. That is understandable to me--if it wasn't for all the tables that came in after us and were served before us...nor was it understandable to me how my 3 coworkers ordered salads and I ordered a wrap and fries yet my fries were COLD.... :-/
HIGHLY disappointed

Read moreTodays journey takes me to helena to the Brewhouse Pub &Grill. From the moment you enter you see that the interior is not like any other place. We were greeted right away and shown straight to a table. My waitress stayed consistent on checking on my table and filling drinks. The kitchen is considered an open kitchen meaning that all guests can see the cooks and hear everything that is being said. I ordered the New York steak cooked medium rare with beer cheese soup and fries. The reason for the choice of fries was because there were no mashed potatoes made. The soup was brought to my table very rapidly and was packed full of flavor. The rich creaminess from the 5 cheese's used was on point and the vegetables in it gave a interesting twist to such a traditional style of soup. In between the soup and my main meal I was checked in on very promptly that my order would be coming up soon. While waiting I noticed how clean the flatware and tables were. It seems that the uniform for this place is a casual setting. Which in term makes me feel at home and relaxed. Once my order had arrived my steak was over cooked by about 15 degrees. But the flavor was what disappointed me more. The steak had less flavor than the fries as if the cooks did not season it at all. It was a very disappointing with such an amazing cut. After service it is sad to say that the hi light of the meal and the star was the soup. If the steak had more seasoning and used a garlic butter the steak would of became the star of the meal. I can not say that I would return to this...
