I came to rockstar bbq with high hopes given the positive reviews. I ordered the brisket and it was disgusting, you can tell it wasn't smoked, it had the worst flavor and was extremely grisly. These guys DO NOT KNOW BBQ.
The owner came out and when my partner inquired about the tacos, the owner said "so what we do here is create flavors", in an extremely pretentious way. He then continue to name drop wealthy clients that he catered for and hype up his food. He came across as arrogant. Also for some reason his staff was a bunch of 14 year old kids (probably their first job), and we overheard him being extremely rude to them. His entitled rude condescending vibe was extremely off putting, the food was bad quality and the place itself was cramped and lacked air conditioning.

Whatever they use as the rib glaze is so delicious (slightly sweet, peppery, and something else I can't place, but YUM). You literally can't go wrong between their chicken, shrimp, tri tip or brisket. If you're lucky you'll catch them on a day with a fantastic special.
Love the location in historic Reeder's Alley. Sweet small joint, but catch them with their food truck at various festivals and locations.
Everything always tastes super fresh and delicious. The tacos, nachos and rice bowls are my go to's -- and their homemade queso 🤤
