Great homemade food

I would have easily given this restaurant 5 stars, without a doubt, but a server can change your experience no matter how great the food is.

Awful experience due to bad attitude from the server (Madison): My sister and I traveled from College Station, Tx to go to the Vintage Market and we decided to pick this place because of the amazing ratings and the number of amazing ratings. However, when my sister and I arrived, the mood was set because of our server. I was having car problems so I was on the phone when she took our drink order, but then hung up so I could order my meal. When I was done ordering I stepped out to examine the car problem and seek advice on the phone. When I stepped back in, our appetizer was on the table and my sister and I talked. When our server brought us our food, not only did she hand each of us the wrong plate, but she messed up my order, but that's not why I am writing this review. I know that people make mistakes but it's not a big deal, our server was snappy just about every time she came to the table, even though she was also in the wrong. When we got the order right she asked, "can I get y'all anything else" I said yes and I asked for tartar sauce. Her response was that she pointed at the bottle at the end of the table, she didn't say "oh this is the tartar sauce" her deameanor was belittling. She was punctual and consistent in the sense that she continued to check on us but her attitude was obvious. She got us our togo boxes and asked how we wanted the checks, we explained how we wanted them split and she still messed up a part of it as well and didn't seem eager to fix it, so we just paid as it was. As my sister and I were filling out our checks, I noticed that she was cleaning off the tables she was serving, and she asked us for the ketchup, mustard, and tartar sauce bottles so we gave them to her. I was wondering why she was so eager to clean up because on google it said the restaurant closed at 8:30, but she could have been getting off from her shift. The rudested thing that she did was she asked us for our receipts and the receipt books, and I didn't let her have my receipt because I was filling it out and writing about my experience. She took my receipt book and asked for the receipt (while I was obviously still filling it out) and I said "aren't the customers suppose to leave them on the table and then you take them?" She just chuckled, handed me the receipt book back with sass, and walked away with my sister's receipt. My sister left a tip plus a note and then we heard her yell in the back "I DIDN'T HAVE A BAD ATTITUDE!"

I have been to plenty of restaurants and I have also served tables myself, and this was the most uncomfortable, awful experience I have ever had. Madison just didn't seem to fit the personality of a server because a server is suppose to be punctual, and considerate. Now considerate doesn't mean you have to be outgoing with the sweetest personality, but she belittled my sister and I while acting like a smart-a**.

If she was so confident to act like this to us then she has probably acted this way to other people before.

BTW, I still tipped her 25% because she knew her menu and kept up with our drink refills, she just made the experience awful because of her attitude. I don't "stiff" people because I know what it's like to...

I ordered the following to-go: One (1) Snow Crab Cluster and one (1)Fried Seafood Platter with 2 pieces (not fillets) of fish and 6 Shrimp - sub hush puppies for salad/slaw.

The cluster is dirty and dry.🥴 It looks like it was just unpacked and soaked in hard tap water. The "seasoned" butter looks like someone mistakenly dropped half of a pinch of seasonings into the butter. I did order extra seasoning, but I used it on the fish and shrimp since I threw away the dehydrated cluster.🤢

The shrimp🍤 and fish🎣 are dang-near tasteless.😖The shrimp tastes like Bleached & Enriched All-purpose Flour. The fish tastes like freshly ground cornmeal and a light hint of flavor.

I asked for hush puppies instead of coleslaw/salad. They gave me coleslaw (I don't want that - to the trash) and hush puppies. No french fries.😒

Prior to my friend placing the order, I called to ask about if the snow crab cluster is seasoned. The young woman who I spoke with said that "[they] can add seasoning to it". 👉 To the contrary, when my friend was ordering, she asked if they could add seasoning. My friend was asked if she wanted "extra seasoning" because they "already season the clusters". I'll let you judge for yourselves.

This was their second chance with me. I will not return...

Well let me just start off saying I was like let me try a new place today. I been seeing this place for some time. But today I stop in and placed a to go order. I was hesitant cause it's seafood. Ok ordered crawfish tails pony everything comes on the side ok cool. I sat 4 about maybe 5 min got my food walked 2bk to my truck and open it up. Looked ok. But the crawfish tails didn't looked fresh thought it wad just me. Ok eating u could taste the grease not being fresh. Well I could not eat it all so started eating the bread and fries. Just gave up on it and took it as a lost that happens sometimes. But no I started to throw up Immediately. I barf twice. And what I knew better is that I should hv walked bk in their and said this is not fresh. But after I barf. Went inside and asked for the manger and it was the lady that took my order. I told her that food made me throw up and made me sick. She said she would talk top the kitchen🤔. Ok well that didn't make me feel any better. I Just walked out and let her know that the good was not fresh and it made me sick. So 1st time and last time ever. I hv a rule if u make me sick I never eat their again every. And I took pics and I would like to Apologize about the pic. Just keeping it real. This was my experience....
