I left full and wasn't disappointed. We showed up for breakfast and I had steak and eggs and my wife had a waffle and eggs.
The lady taking our order was very nice and after placing the order the food showed up pretty quickly. My steak was just about right (medium rare) and there were two eggs and a pile of hash browns to go with it... Oh and a big biscuit.
My wife's waffle was fairly large and it came with two eggs and also had a pile of hash browns and bacon.
It was a fairly quiet morning and there were not too many other diners there with us.
The price was about average but I think that they make sure you don't leave hungry.
I would definitely go to the Pheasant again to eat and in case you are wondering about the 4 stars... I am now only going to give the best of the best a 5 star rating on my reviews... I figured giving a 5 star rating to just any old place would be deceiving... So don't let the 4 stars fool you... It was a nice breakfast and I will go back, but there wasn't anything mind blowing enough to warrant a 5 star rating... Maybe someday after eating there again I will find that 5 star dish... But until then... A 4 star is definitely a keeper, a decent atmosphere, friendly staff and a great...
Read moreIt's unfortunate, I've heard so many good things about this place and that just wasn't what my husband and I experienced. We got there around 915 on a Saturday. There was no sign stating "please wait to be seated" nor "seat yourself". The lady that was running the front did not acknowledge us at all until we started to move to one of the 5 empty tables on the smaller side of the restaurant. She then said I'll be withyou in a moment. She seated us, we got our coffee and water. It took about 20 min for her to come take our order, we ordered the same thing. During the hr and half wait the place started to fill up. It was after we saw her serve 2 tables that came in long after we did that we decided to leave. She completely forgot about us although I don't see how as we were seated right across from the hostess booth. We won't be going back...
Read moreGot a turkey bruischetta panini, server told me the pesto needed to be made fresh and I was okay with waiting longer. They still served me a panini without pesto :-)
Also to add an edit to this: I don’t believe it’s the cook’s fault. It is all the waitress we had. She was spacey, didn’t pay attention, and had to be told multiple times what we wanted, wouldn’t be surprised that she didn’t tell “the new cook” that they have that they needed to make fresh pesto for my panini. Maybe do a drug test for your employees. I’m a server myself and the way she treated us was so subpar. I never write reviews, but wow. Pay attention to your customers or you won’t have any.
As a stop for visiting family, for someone who worked here back in the 60’s and even hyped it up to us: never...
