Read moreWe flew all morning from KY and didn’t have time for breakfast so we were starving when we arrived to Fort Lauerdale and my cousin took us to La Juliana -he couldn’t stop talking about how good food was-. He had the Ropa Vieja, and my mom and I shared a Bistec de Cerdo Grillé (a plate was enough for both of us). Every single bite was fantastic!!! Each dish comes with congrí (rice mixed with black beans), mashed cassava -a totally new finding for me- green beans and a small salad in the same plate. My cousin also ordered a strawberry shake, which turned out to be a great addition to our meal. Since we were so hungry, I didn’t take any pics of the food as I usually do, but… if you happen to be in Hialeah FL, this is a hidden gem!

Imagine my shock when the bill came to $52! For that price, I would expect large, gourmet-quality pizzas or some extraordinary pasta experience, but this was far from it.
The pizzas were personal-sized—barely enough to satisfy—and the spaghetti was just average. Nothing special, no premium ingredients, and certainly not worth the cost. It felt like I was paying fine-dining prices for fast-food quality.
