I want to share my disappointment in the owners of Toasted Coffee. I have always loved these girls and have always tried to help promote their business since they are young local owners as I own a local business myself! I have told so many people about them, I purchased all my cake pops from them even though it cost me more than what I was doing before just to help support them, I have purchased their bread and put their business card on them and put them out at my restaurant all to help support young local business owners. I always purchased cake pops in quantities of 100 at a time. Well one morning I went in to get my cake pops and we had been having problems with our business card, I was in a huge hurry and my card declined-not their fault at all! Was I aggravated? Absolutely! But never at them because it had nothing to do with them . Was I pacing back and forth because I needed to get to my restaurant that was very busy yes! I never was I rude to them ! I told my co owner āI donāt have time for thisā talking about the card? Not them! And I even apologized to them more than once! Did I not look happy? No! But it had nothing to do with them it was about my card! Well a couple days later I get a not so nice message from Rachael telling me they are no longer doing business with me because āof my altercation with their staff and guestsā ok that is an absolute false statement! I never had any type of altercation with anyone on her staff or any guests! Why would I? None of this was their fault! She said I was rude to her guest and some of them left!!! Completely false! I would like to say, first, that WE donāt DO business together- I Am their customer and a very good one at that!! And for her to just believe the story her team came up with and leave me that message without hearing from me is probably the most unprofessional thing Iāve dealt with! I understand they are young owners but I am very offended! Iām sure one of the young workers heard me say āI donāt have time for thisā and thought I was talking about them and made this big dramatic thing up and had the other people believing her because, if they hear the false story but then see me not looking happy, Iām sure they believed it! Then she said a costumer told her the same thing well Iām sure that came from the girls working too and they believed it too because you could see I wasnāt happy so it would be easy to believe! I tried to call and clear this up but Rachel was not believing me! I cannot tell you the disappointment of this team! I was never rude to anyone there and even if I were, we deal with rude customers on a daily basis and if I told each of my customers I wasnāt going to let them be my custom anymore because they are rude, we wouldnāt have a business! Definitely the last time I tell my customers and friends about them! This is what you get when dealing with such young owners, I guess! I strongly feel like I am...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNormally everything is great when I come here and get my coffee, but today and the last couple times I've come I've been charged an extra dollar everytime for no water in my cold brew. I've never been charged before and Brittanie at the register decided to do so. I understand charging for extra coffee but an extra dollar is a little much and instead of trying to make the moment right for me, she tried to argue and decided to step away from me off the floor to call her manager in the back and had us wait an extra 10 minutes for some toast and a refund for my drink. She acted extremely unprofessionally and didn't make me feel valued as a customer. All of the other girls who work are amazing and make my drinks and food without any issues before. We come in almost daily and as a regular customer I feel this kind of behavior was unacceptable. I work in management of customer service and this kind of behavior would have been reprimanded if I would have noticed one of my employees arguing with a customer instead of trying to make the moment right and the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am a bit giddy that we now have both a local coffee house, and that it's as awesome as it is. We've always had one to visit in each place we've lived, but St. Louis County has a very big vacuum of local coffee houses. Starbucks has strangled most of them out it seems. There's always a community or even "club" that forms around the local ones and we've missed that.
The coffee is delicious, they can do dairy-free mochas very well (yay lactose-intolerance), the little library area, kids corner, games to borrow, there's already a lot of community connections between the sourdough loaves, the multiple local artist creations on sale/display, the charity connection with the Letters to Santa also collecting donations for the Jefferson County Foster System (Santa writes back), and the list goes on.
It's obvious that there's been a lot of thought put into this place. The theme is Colorado-inspired and really cozy. We really hope that they do well and can be a long-term part of the area.
...now if we only had a...
