Ordered take out today. Everything was accurate, even for a big order, so was very pleased. Staff was very nice, too, even during lunch rush (and I know many of us have probably been to a Leo's somewhere where the staff was the opposite). I think biggest complaint were we ordered the appetizer of hummus and it was literally just a dollop of hummus -- maybe they accidentally thought it was supposed to be the side? We also ordered a side of the vegetable of the day, and the online ordering said it would be steamed broccoli -- but instead we ended up paying almost $6 for canned mixed vegetables.
Overall, it's a Leo's -- the McDonald's of the Coney Island world.
Updated June 2022: Dropping my stars. Gave them another chance and they forgot and messed up several things in our to go order. I came back because it was that many things and they kindly and promptly fixed, but the hummus became an issue again. This is how I learned that they claim their 6.39 appetizer hummus looks like the size of the left and the 2.29 size looks like the right because I thought they also accidentally gave us the side of hummus instead of the app. Our last visit the hummus appetizer was small but even that was served in the white styrofoam every Leo's I've ever been to was served. The employees were very sweet and I got the feeling they know this serving is nonsense, but the girl at the register did cop an attitude when I pressed and said, "You are getting bread with it and I'm giving you a second one for free because you complained." Anyone who dares order hummus here better know you could order 3 sides and it would be more hummus for less than the appetizer.
I know food prices are up, but this seems like someone is getting around a franchise requirement since the other area local Leo's serve a pretty standard sized hummus appetizer (and sides of dressing -- the extra dressings they charge for here are in the background. That was $5 worth of ranch 😳).
Really disappointed as this one is so close and love that they have outside tables.

Read moreThis place is a joke. We ordered delivery via the Leo’s website, it never arrived and got reassigned 3 different times to different drivers. Got a message to call the store with no answer and food never came. I called the store the next day and she said the store was closed and she never turned off online ordering so multiple people were charged with no food delivered. I asked about my refund and she said the owner was working on it. I asked how I would receive confirmation it was done and she said she would take my number and call me. I never received a call back and 6 days after the order was placed I still haven’t received a refund and I called again and they said that now I’ll have to come in and bring a screenshot for a refund for the order they never delivered. Absolutely awful customer service! No apologies at all and now they are making us go up there when they should be refunding us to the payment method we used when the incident happened. Stay away, there are lots of good Leo’s locations but this definitely isn’t one.
UPDATE: we went there to get our refund and the owner refused to give it even after his staff told us to come up there for a refund and they openly admitted that this was their fault. I’ve never had a worse experience with a restaurant.
UPDATE response to owner: I can appreciate the very kind offer to “front” us the money for the order we placed that your business is not refunding promptly or even providing any follow up communication on but I think you’re missing the point here. There was a complete lack of customer care and to repeatedly express that it’s “not in your control” is ridiculous. Your staff member explicitly stated that this happened because she didn’t handle the system properly when they decided to close early. I’ve been to restaurants where there were mishaps and I understand we are all human but this was handled in a very...
Read moreWe usually eat at this Leo’s Coney Island at least once a week and have always enjoyed it, but today marks the third time this year we’ve had a bad experience here. Normally, you can expect to spend about 30 minutes from the time you sit down to when you leave. This time, hoping for a quick dinner, we ended up spending a frustrating 1 hour and 15 minutes.
When we walked in, most of the tables were still dirty. I gave them a pass on that at first, figuring they had just gone through a rush, but traffic seemed pretty normal by the time we were seated. After the waitress took our order, we waited around 40 minutes for our food. During that entire time, they never stopped by to check on us or see if we needed drink refills. When the food finally arrived, both our fries were cold, and the chicken pita and chicken sandwich tasted like they had been sitting out for a while.
We asked for fresh fries, which surprisingly came out fairly quickly, but the overall experience had already gone downhill. What really confused me was seeing two other tables arrive, get their food, and even pay their bill before we had finished eating. Not sure what happened tonight, but it was disappointing, especially from a place we’ve been loyal to...
