The reason this place received a low rating from me is due to how long my food took and the lack of communication about items being unavailable. I think it’s reasonable to expect to be able to get in and out of a restaurant in around an hour during lunch on a weekday (unless the restaurant is clearly very busy… that’s a different story), and you should be told if something that is included with your order is unavailable when you order it, not after it fails to arrive.
I came in at noon and ordered sushi off the lunch menu, which includes miso soup and a salad with the meal. It took a good while for the server to take our order and then it took almost an hour for our food to make it to the table (the inside of the restaurant was not very busy at this time, there was only one server but there were only two other tables there when we were seated). 40 minutes into waiting I requested that we have our soup and salad and I was then told they were out of salad, they only had soup. Okay… not a huge deal, but I should have been told that when I ordered. The miso soup finally came to us with nothing but seaweed in it. Maybe this is typical here but I’m used to getting miso with tofu and green onion as well so it was a little disappointing. Finally the sushi was served, but then we never got our check when we were finished… and I eventually had to leave the rest of my party there to get back to work. All this noted, the food was very good and the service, although very slow, was still very kind and professional.
It’s worth noting that I’ve been here multiple times and this experience wasn’t an anomaly. Every visit the food has been great and the service has consistently been kind but slow. They seem to always be out of at least one thing my party tries to order as well, but we’re usually told at the point of ordering. Also, there is often very little or no hand soap in the bathrooms. My recommendation is to order takeout from here and skip the dine in experience all together if you have any other plans or commitments that day (and maybe bring your own soap if you think you’ll need to wash...
Read moreI have never left a review before in my life, but I feel like dining at this location warranted it. First of all, the service was terrible. Probably the worst service I’ve had in years. We were the only two people in there, and looking back it was probably for obvious reasons. The server was extremely rude and pushy. I asked for a spice level 7 and she talked me out of it and said it would be way too spicy. I eat Asian food all the time because I LOVE spicy food, but she acted like it was going to blow my head off. I thought maybe it would be something really crazy, so dropped it down to a level 5. When I got my dish at a level five, the server did not come over to check on me or my friend at all and the level five was not the spice level I wanted. I had to stand up and walk over to get her to tell her that my dish was not what I wanted. She handed me red pepper flakes and said I could add them myself, like ???? Then she proceeded to speak poorly about me very loud amongst her coworkers. There was no music or anything playing, so I could hear everything they said. The flavor of the food was ok at best, but it was overshadowed by the fact that there was a dead cockroach in the women’s bathroom by the trash can. Where there are one, there are many. I left a tip because I’ve been in the service industry, but overall a very poor and uncomfortable experience for both me and my friend. I would definitely not recommend dining at this establishment. There are plenty of other great Thai places around like Asiana, Thai Pavilion, or...
Read moreI love this Thai place and get it at least once a week. The crab puffs come with a delicious lime chili syrup that I want to drown in. I typically get the pad Thai because I’m basic but if I go for dinner I love their Tom Yum fried rice. Lunch comes with my favorite egg rolls, a soup (it’s a very light broth with a few veggies nothing to write home about) and your entree all for like $11-$12 and the portions are enough for 2 people or 1 hungry person. The only reason I don’t give more stars is because the service is probably the worst out of any place I’ve ever been. If you dine in, bring a book or something to occupy your time. You also need to know that some of the wait staff is very unfriendly and treat every request like you are asking them to walk on hot coals. The dining room is really cute with house plants in the windows, which I love. “Why only 1 star then?” Well depending on where you sit and what day you go there, you may end up smelling sewage from the nearby bathroom and I don’t know about you but the smell of doodoo is not appealing at the best of times, let alone while I’m chowing down on some noodles. BUT if you get take out,...
