There I was, back in 93’ I had just finished my Pogs collection back in my house on 9th street when I heard it, it was faint at first but grew louder and louder as I focused on it. What was this sound it was unlike anything I had ever heard before, like a low hum, but not of a earthly origin. As I curiously looked around my house for the hum I began to make out words breaching ever so softly yet decisively from the hum “Tim, Tim” it was saying over and over again like a chant from a phantom football stadium. “Was this really a ghost” I pondered. I know that my cousin reportedly had told me that his parents house was haunted yet I never considered myself a believer of the paranormal. Then stood before was everything I had needed to change my mind. A specter no smaller than 7 feet tall laid before me. “What do I do” I began panicking throwing my pogs at the apparition but nothing seemed to work, it was quickly approaching, with what I presumed to be arms stretching out towards me, seeming to grow in length. It began wrapping the now noodle like appendages around me consuming me I thought, however the feeling that succeeded was not one of malice, instead it was warm, cozy, like a blanket of the finest silks. It was at this moment that I began to recognize the ghastly figure wrapped around me, it was none other than Abraham Lincoln and he had told me something that I will never forget, the quote etched in my mind like stone “the burgers at 9th street cafe are the best burgers that money can buy” and now today as I write this review I can confirm Abraham Lincoln is absolutely correct this cafe has the best piece of sirloin beef placed snuggly between two fresh steamy loaves of bun with a lettuce and pickle tucked in ever so nearly appearing to be resting, awaiting to be delivered into your mouth in which it will be transformed to...
Read moreThis is a fairly small place, we were visiting some family and ordered some of the Friday special fried fish plates, and a fried fish sandwich.
I'll be honest I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The fish was flaky but firm, the batter crispy, not soggy, and the flavor was just right. I really enjoyed the meal, and the side of fries and coleslaw were very good as well. There are plenty of fries to share, and the slaw isn't too heavy with mayo. I'd be curious to try some of their other dishes, but just on the fried fish I can easily recommend this place.
If we find ourselves in town visiting again, I'll be sure to stop by and get myself...
Read moreI'd heard so much positivity about this Cafe and found myself disappointed. Maybe they were having a bad day? I ordered the chicken fried steak with eggs, hash browns, biscuits and gravy. The food was bland and lacked any sort of seasoning. The eggs, while well cooked, didn't have any flavor even from the yolks. The chicken fried steak was the tastiest part, but that's only because it had a texture other than goop. I...
