Don Ole Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Highland

I got the Don Ole special-2 tacos, rice & beans withOUT tomatoes. It came WITH diced tomatoes..server took it back. It came back within 2 mins without any 'visible tomatoes. All they did was remove the lettuce, tomatoes & cheese & replaced with lettuce & cheese. During the course of my eating the tacos found 3 tomatoes they missed. What IF I was allergic to tomatoes instead of just not liking them? The juice from the diced tomatoes & tomatoes could have given an allergic person major probs! Our server came once to the table to ask how the food was...didn't refill our drinks or come back to the table until the young man told her we were waiting on the ck...i went to the bar to ask for a refill once & the young man that brought my tacos out the 2nd time refilled my tea also. I had to get my own take home container & we waited 20 mins to get our check. Husband got 3 beef hard she'll tacos..they were very soggy from the juice that was running out of them the whole time. Daughter's cheese steak was good. Not sure we'll return...just not as good as the Mexican rest by Northtown. If we do return, we'll be asking for the youngman..he's an...

Don Ole Mexican Restaurant is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Highland Illinois. The food tastes very authentic. The size portions are large, and no matter how busy the restaurant is, the food is always served in a timely manner. The wait staff are very kind, efficient, and attentive to your dining needs. The main dining room is quite large and is filled with a mixture of booths and tables. The decorations, pictures, and statues are fun. The restaurant is generally busy. When there are a lot of kids, the restaurant can have a lot of background noise. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There is parking on both sides of the restaurant. The location is easy to find and centrally located. I highly recommend...

Don ole has taken me on a wild ride of experiences. The food has always been excellent but the service has varied in quality vastly. When I first started coming here when they opened the service was great but fell drastically downhill until about 2 months ago. It seems like they have cycled out the terrible servers and now they have good workers again. The only reason they aren't getting 5 stars blow is because of the bad influence the last group of servers left on me as their service was unacceptable.
