I recently discovered Pat’s Place Louisiana Soul Food in San Bernardino, and it deserves every bit of praise for delivering genuine Southern comfort right in the Inland Empire.
From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality: the kind you’d expect from a family-run soul food spot. The aromas of simmering gumbo stock, peppery jambalaya, and slow-braised meats instantly set expectations high. Authentic Flavors: It feels like home cooking—steadily reminiscent of real Louisiana-style soul food. Perfect for big appetites or sharing with a friend. Plenty of rice, greens, and protein in each meal. Staff are friendly and welcoming, often chatting while serving and asking about your preferences. Its just what you want at a soul food joint. If you’re craving true Southern soul food in San Bernardino, Pat’s Place is a standout. The hearty dishes, authentic seasoning, and welcoming vibe make it a delicious local treasure. Whether you’re in for a chicken-based combo, slow-simmered greens, or creamy mac and cheese, you’ll leave satisfied and planning your next visit. They are open Wednesday through Sunday and every day they have a different menu so make sure you go on the day of the food...
Read moreFound this great little restaurant on a whim. I had a taste for meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and vegetables. This place came up, so i decided to take a drive and try it out. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised. When I walked in, I was overwhelmed with the selections on offer. Everything Dish is served cafeteria style. One entree and two sides. I ended up trying the pot roast, smothered pork chops and baked turkey leg. As for sides, I had the macaroni and cheese, collard greens, cabbage, corn with okra and tomato, and black eyed peas over rice. The food didn't let me down. The pork chops were tender and flavorful, and the pot roast was delicious. The turkey leg meat fell off the bone and was accompanied with a great tasting gravy. Last but not least is the catfish. I truly wish I would have ordered more of that than I did. It was seasoned well, crispy and fresh. Overall this place is a must try. I will definitely be back, and wholeheartedly...
Read moreOrdered the fried fish special which was listed on their menu for $17.95 and included 2 sides. It was a bit of a wait which was no biggie, it was lunch time on a Friday so, understandable. With an added a side of cabbage, my total came out to $35.. I should have stopped to ask why the big price difference than what was advertised, but I was in a hurry and a sassy customer has come in pulling the ladys' attention. The outer breading was a little tough but the catfish on the inside was tender and flaky. Mac and cheese, greens, and cabbage were delicious! The cornbread muffin unfortunately was hard as a rock and crumbled everywhere. I had such high hopes and was really excited! :( it's so hard to find good soulfood in the IE. Definitely want to give them another chance and I would still recommend everyone to give this place a try. I only hope that with them being new, they can find their groove and take some of their downfalls and turn...
