I tried to find out if this business could do a few gluten-free items for a wedding, starting several months ago. First, the town's FB page that provided info gave out the wrong business. Then, once I had the right contact information, I filled out a form on their website. It's been over 2 months & no response. I called them, again no response. I finally went in person to the store a week ago on Friday. The place was open but it was disappointing to see very little available. Of course I wasn't there to buy anything per se, I just wanted to see if they could bake some GF goodies. A nice employee told me that sometimes they have GF items but that I'd have to talk to the owner. The nice lady asked me for my name & number. It's been a week & no call back. In talking about the business with locals, we started to wonder how in the world a business that is open only twice a week is able to pay for the rent when the previous tenants, a fantastic deli that was open all week & did very well, had to leave because of the rent. The deli folks worked hard, they were friendly & their food was excellent. Is this pie thing a vanity project, with the owner able to open only twice a week (until they run out)? Regardless, I've never had any local business demonstrate such poor customer service. I've given up on the place & won't bother to ever go again. Wish the deli...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHereās a fact - Iāve eaten more pie than any person you know or know of. Now hereās an opinion - these are the best pies you can get your hands on. I donāt care where youāre from in Jersey, PA, NY, etc. These are better than any place thatās probably coming to your mind right now. Trust me, Iāve tried pies from countless places in all three states and nothing comes close to Pie Girl. Be it the crust, filling, or toppings, everything is beyond exceptional.& if that wasnāt enough, they also have sensational cakes, blondies, brownies, and even sandwiches. Some may quibble that the shop is only open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays, but thatās only because they have such a robust wholesale business. Regardless, itās worth the trip, effort, calories, and money. In short - believe the hype!
Bottom Line: the best pies anywhere from the best people. Above and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTruly the best pie in NJ and the best pie I've ever had! I absolutely love going to the pie shop, so beautifully decorated, welcoming and full of warmth. Chelsea is so dedicated to her craft and the staff is also so kind and caring. I've loved everything that I tried especially the galettes, passionfruit pie, chamomile pie, suntea pie, mango cream (yum!) pie, blueberry crumble, strawberry rhubarb, the turmeric blondie, the saffron orange bundt cake and so much more! Chelsea also supports local businesses, purchasing high quality seasonal ingredients. I also love their new sandwiches and appreciate so much the vegetarian options. The focaccia bread is a-m-a-z-i-n-g! It is also heartwarming to see the patronage of the Hightstown Police enjoying pies with all of us. Thank you for all you do to build community around...
