As a treat for our kids, we decided to stop at Highwood's McDonald's after dinner. We ordered through the drive-thru around 6:30, proceeded through payment, and picked up our order. Upon receiving our order of an M&M McFlurry for my son and two Kit-Kat McFlurries for my daughter and husband, we were immediately taken aback by the taste of the Kit-Kat McFlurries, which tasted strange and nothing like Kit-Kat. I went inside and kindly explained the situation. The associate, Kevin, immediately made it clear that it did not matter that we did not eat nor enjoy the McFlurry but he did not care nor would replace it. After requesting the manager, Anna came up and I showed both of them the uneaten McFlurries and carefully explained the situation, and again, I was laughed off; there was "nothing they could do." Further, Anna and Kevin, proceeded to have a prolonged conversation, in Spanish, clearly about me, right in front of me. They were incredibly disrespectful, unfriendly, and hostile to me. Furthermore, the "Manager" Anna, spoke with me for quite a while in English, and then suddenly claimed she could NOT speak English, nor could any other employee. I cannot believe that a business would ever treat a customer in this manner, and I am shocked they would employ a manager so disrespectful, arrogant, and clearly anti-customer. I will never come to this McDonald's location ever again, I look forward to writing reviews on every restaurant database, and I will tell everyone I meet not to visit this location. I am shocked and disturbed that this would ever occur. I am absolutely astounded and troubled by the fact that these are the standards accepted by the McDonald's...
Read moreOn Wednesday evening, my husband and I were aggressively asked to leave the dining room at the McDonald's near the Fort Sheridan Metra Station, despite the posted hours. We placed our initial order around 10:00 PM and ordered dessert around 10:25 PM. At approximately 10:30 PM, an employee informed us the dining room was closed and we needed to leave. When I stated the sign clearly showed an 11:00 PM closing time, the employee aggressively insisted the sign read 10:30 PM. We complied and left, but I immediately took a photograph of the official sign, which confirms the dining room closes at 11:00 PM. The core issue is the employee’s decision to lie about the operating hours and aggressively challenge the customer, rather than simply offering an honest explanation (e.g., "We're quiet and hoping to close the dining room early tonight"). We were made to feel misled and unintelligent, which is unacceptable...
Read moreThe food is ALWAYS under cooked. It's like the employees are always in a hurry... Or at least "the cook."
My most recent experience was definitely my last. I only ordered a med frie. They were warm, dry, and hard. I asked for them to be made fresh. The employee took the bag, told me to pull up, and they'd bring them out.
Immediately after tasting them, I thought they were the same fries, redipped in grease! I kept telling myself, "No, that would be unsanitary. They wouldn't do that. "
Yet, and still something wasn't right. Then I figured it out, they recooked some old fries and gave them to me like I wouldn't notice how chewy and greasy, an old frie would taste!
I'm big on principle (takes things seriously). Luckily for them, I had something to do that day because I would have confronted the staff. This was totally unacceptable! And unnecessary! It would've took them the same amount of energy to make...
