We had large plain pizza pie, teryaki chicken wings and an order of pene voadka.
Pros: Plenty of parking Free parking Plenty of tables Super clean dinning room Super clean restroom Friendly staff Great service Super fast service Lots of items on the menu Awesome selection of drinks including super delicious Joe's Iced Tea (raspberry, lemon, zero, half&half). Pene vodka tasted good, on par with pene served at all other pizza places in the area.
Cons: I must agree with the other commentors here on google maps... the pizza here is mediocre in flavor, texture, aroma, appearance, aftertaste and every other aspect. Even just looking at the pizza you can already see some of the flaws in the dough, cheese and sauce. The taste of the dough is dry with an almost cardboard texture. It also had some dry crumbs of something stuck on it, maybe extra flour or leftover crumbs of other pies... not sure if that was intentional? The sauce is bitter and sour, and not in a good way, as pizza should be savory and not bitter or sour. The cheese just didnt taste right at all. Something really wrong. It didnt taste like mozerella. I would say that frozen pizza from the grocery store cooked in a microwave oven is just above your pizza currently. Elios or Tombstones.
The teryaki chicken wings were cooked fine, but I disliked the flavor and disliked the sauce.
Suggestions: For the chicken wings, how about making fried chicken wings with a nice breaded crust like KFC or Popeyes.. and offer a sweet dipping sauce like chinese sweet & sour. The Grant Street restaurant in Dumont, NJ has this and it is very yummy.
For your pizza, the first thing you need to do is sample your competition. If you want to beat the best, then try a large pie at Rudy's Pizza in Closter, NJ. They have had the best pizza since the 1980s with the perfect balance of ingredients, size, baking and flavor. Try to match their dough, sauce, cheese and baking style. If you want to meet or beat the best thin crust, then try a large pie from Grant Street in Dumont. They have perfected the thin crust pizza. Or if you want to be the best thick slice pizza, then head down to Costco. They have simple yet filling and delicious pizza. 1 slice is usually so big and thick that it is enough for 1 meal. But if you just want to match NJ style pizza, head down to any local pizza parlor and usually you can find a good slice with a great combo of ingredients and flavor.
Right now you have a great name, location, staff and brand. My best suggestion is go for the simple. If you can change your recipie... make a yummy, scrumptious, simple plain pizza... then those base ingredients will flow into all your other pizza offerings and really help bring Ninos...
Read moreI placed an order for delivery using the Slice app (it was recommended on Nino's line because they were so busy). After 40 minutes of placing the order I checked the app to track my food. The 'place your order' page popped up and i clicked to see where my order was. I realized that I just placed the order twice and immediately called Nino's. The girl who answered the phone told me it was too late to cancel and my order was already made. I doubted it and pressed further to see what else could be done. She got rude with me and actually hung up on me! My son and daughter in law hopped in the car (it's literally 2 blocks away) and were greeted with rudeness and shown a plain pizza that was said to be mine. I ordered half sausage as well as several other items, so I call bull. I never received the second order but my card was charged $88 twice. Not getting any satisfaction, my daughter in law wrote a review stating what happened. The first response was that they hope to fix it. That was replaced by an admission that there was a miscommunication on their end and they hoped to make it right. I contacted Slice and began a dispute. Although they tried, they said they could not issue a refund with Nino's authorization. I was just notified that Nino's is willing to give me the $10 tip back from the second order. That's $78 short of making it right. I have been a loyal customer since Nino's opened, as well as my family. With this kind of customer service I will no longer be ordering...
Read moreJuly 10th, 2024: A mother with her child entered your store ordered a whole pizza, left a 10% tip and in addition she ordered another slice of pizza for her child to eat while they were waiting for the whole pizza to cook. Mother with a jumpy child by hand escaped by accident the slice of pizza on the floor. The mother cleaned with napkins the chair, the table and the floor. The personnel did not come to ask if everything is ok or to come to help. They just looked in amusement how clumsy was the mother and how much unrest had the minor child that could not eat his slice of pizza. In Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, for example, less civilized countries then USA if such incident would occur, most likely the personnel would have handled another slice of pizza to the crying minor. To me the incident shows how deep in poverty USA is falling and how stoned hearted in an attempt to make profit some people become. This coincides with a rapid progress to the entropy of the society. I never wish you to be treated with your child like I was treated yesterday in your little shop.
