TL;DR BEST ... BLT ... EVERRRRRRR!!
The story: I came to visit my sister-in-law in Hinesburg, VT this Memorial Day weekend. I was pulling in to town at 1:30 p.m. ET when I started feeling a bit peckish and so I thought I would stop to pick up something at a restaurant that she lives near but then I thought "Heck, I'm feeling like a sub or sandwich."
I asked my mobile device what restaurants were in the area, and the Good Times Cafe was the first hit. Now, I've been by Good Times Cafe several times in the past decade but never stepped in so I thought "Let's try it out."
I called, gave them my order - BLT with pickles on it, and french fries. This location doesn't have french fries but they do have many different flavors of potato chips. It wasn't feeling like a potato chip day so I asked for two BLTs. Let me remind you that I've never been here before. So I'm thinking, you know, regular sliced bread BLT.
NO! It was not regular and it was nothing like normal. đ± Upon unwrapping it my eyes nearly fell out of my head. It was made with what I believe is focaccia bread and measured something like 6x9 in. IT WAS A HUGE SANDWICH. AND HAD LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF BACON!! đ„° AND I BOUGHT TWO OF THEM!!!!
Let me tell you something: I cannot tell you how delicious this BLT sandwich was. đ At first I thought oh my god that's a lot of sandwich but now having tried it I'm happy that I got two đ because it is so freaken' good đ€Ż
Now mind you, my sister-in-law isn't finicky like I am, but when she says something tastes good then you know darn straight It is some good food. I gave her half of one sandwich and she was extremely impressed. She, too, stated it was the best BLT she's ever tasted. đ
I can 100% guarantee đŻ from now on when I come to visit my sister-in-law that the first place I'm stopping at is Good Times Cafe so I can get my fix on more of that FREAKENâ...
Read moreWandered in not realizing it was a music night. We were two hours early for that though so figured we'd be in and out before the music got started. It was still very busy but open tables. After quite a long wait our pizza came (just ok) but by now all the tables were full. Many more waiting people (obviously coming for the music) were now standing in front of the counter drinking beer and blocking that area (if you wanted to use the rest room) and later when I went up to the counter to order a piece of pie she asked me if I was going to take it home! puzzled I said no, just want desert. After she came back with the pie I overheard her telling another impatient waiting customer to just go stand by the seated guests. This created quite a uncomfortable situation as the standees were staring at the sitters obviously trying to hurry us along. The last straw was when the main dude behind the counter came out in the seating area and screwed several unlit bulbs into their sockets to turn them on. I watched as he went from bulb to bulb and then back into the kitchen and continued working with food with out washing his hands. Not a glove to be seen anywhere by anyone back there. They all switch from taking money, pulling on the tap handles and handling the food. Yuk!...
Read moreGood Times CafĂ© is truly a hidden gem in the heart of Hinesburg, VT. As visitors from Virginia Beach, weâre always on the lookout for local spots with heartâand this place absolutely delivered. The Jimmy Tâs Italian sandwich was easily the best Iâve ever had. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the pizza-style bread it came on was a total game changerâlight, crispy, and perfect for anyone who doesnât love a thick, heavy roll. It struck that perfect balance where the bread complements rather than overwhelms the ingredients. And the prices? Incredibly reasonable for the quality youâre getting.
What made the experience even more special was the warmth and kindness of everyone we met. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with such genuine hospitality that we instantly felt at home. Itâs clear that this is more than just a cafĂ©âitâs a place built on community, good food, and good vibes. We left with full bellies and happy hearts, already talking about how weâd love to come back. If youâre anywhere near Hinesburg, donât miss out on this...
