I recently had the pleasure of dining at Curry Express and it was an unforgettable culinary experience that transported me straight to the heart of India. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with traditional decor that set the perfect mood for an evening of gastronomic delight.
Goat Curry: The star of the show was undoubtedly the goat curry. This dish was a symphony of spices that danced on my palate with each bite. The goat meat was tender, cooked to perfection, and marinated in a rich blend of spices including cumin, coriander, and turmeric. What truly set this dish apart was the balance of garam masala, which brought a warm, earthy flavor that was both comforting and exhilarating. The slow-cooked tomatoes and onions melded seamlessly with the robust spices, creating a gravy that was nothing short of divine. Each spoonful was a reminder of why Indian cuisine is celebrated worldwide for its complexity and depth.
Chicken Tikka Masala: Equally impressive was the chicken tikka masala, a dish that is often touted as a hallmark of Indian cuisine. The boneless chicken pieces were marinated in a tantalizing mix of yogurt and spices such as ginger, garlic, and chili powder before being grilled to smoky perfection. The sauce was a luxurious blend of tomatoes, cream, and a carefully curated array of spices. The sweetness of the tomatoes perfectly complemented the smoky, charred flavor of the chicken, while the cream added a velvety texture that made the dish indulgently rich. The hint of fenugreek at the end was a masterstroke, adding a subtle bitterness that rounded out the flavor profile beautifully.
Overall, Curry Express exceeded my expectations in every way. The attentive service and the chef’s meticulous attention to detail in the use of spices and seasonings made for an extraordinary dining experience. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their exquisite menu.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an authentic and memorable Indian dining experience. Thanks Maty For...
Read moreFor Indian food, my family and I usually have to venture into Pooler (it's our favorite 'local' spot). A friend of mine always heard me rave about our favorite spot, and then he saw Curry Express opened. He liked it, but we wanted to try it for ourselves.
Folks, let me tell you. I would NEVER have guessed that this amazing of Indian cuisine could come out of a small shop in Hinesville, Ga. We have absolutely no need to drive to Pooler anymore (it's a drive, we live in Ludowici).
We were absolutely BLOWN away. The owner was super nice and answered all of my questions, even providing some new dish suggestions for next time. We've eaten a few times since then and it's consistently amazing.
The price is a little higher then you would normally expect if you don't eat Indian food often but in my experiences, Indian food has a hardline of 'you get what you pay for'. Higher cost typically boils down to better ingredients, and I honestly think that is the case here.
We will be back (and have been back a few times already). If you are an Indian food enjoyer or someone who wants to try it, this is a great place to add to your list. It's local, it's delicious and, let's be honest, Hinesville deserves more great food options.
It is my hope that they find a better spot in town over time, so they can reopen their buffet, as I think it's beneficial to newcomers to the cuisine, being able to try many of the popular dishes.
My wife and child typically get Malai Kofta and I'm a big fan of Chicken Korma (with plenty of...
