Sunbury Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Hinesville

I was so excited when I heard that we were finally getting a local coffee shop in Hinesville. My friend and I (plus our toddlers) finally had the opportunity to go visit Sunbury and we left feeling disappointed, so much so that we won’t go back again. Firstly, when we entered, there was no one at the counter. We waited for 10 minutes before even getting acknowledged. The woman then came out from the back and told us she would be there in a second. After getting someone else their order, she went behind the desk. Didn’t greet us, didn’t say anything, just stood there and starred at us. They didn’t have a fall menu, which wasn’t a big deal. And they didn’t have much of a selection for flavors either. The interaction felt awkward. She took our orders and we went outside to wait for our drinks. The wait time wasn’t bad. But what took me aback the most was that when a different woman brought out our drinks, another women behind her was recording us. They never asked us for permission to be recorded, especially with 2 small children. I don’t want my son being recorded by strangers. I was so taken aback that i froze and didn’t even say anything to them recording us. It just felt weird and awkward and I felt like a circus animal if i’m being honest. This is exactly what Hinesville needed, FINALLY. a locally owned cafe in a sea of big corporate chains. This place is adorable with a nice outdoor area and sitting areas inside as well. A great place to work solo, meet a girlfriend for coffee or bring your family. And it is absolutely the place you want to go when you want the royal treatment. every detail, in every sense - see, smell, taste, hear - is executed perfectly and with style. Finally a cute local coffee shop in the area! With refreshing atmosphere and scrumptious pastries and desserts to try each time! The coffee hits the spot, with robust flavors that slap the tongue with happiness! They have decaf and half-caff options as well that don’t leave an odd aftertaste like most, which is a god send! I also have to add that the house’s esthetic is just so cozy and calming to sit down and get some schoolwork done or a chill quiet place to catch up on your work emails! So happy this place exists!
