Okay service, as servers some times seem to not be focused on customers very well. But for Hobbs better than most other places and usually decent food. But unfortunately no long on our list of acceptable places to eat. The other night the wife and I went there after work. We were 1/4 of the way through the meal when the wife exclaimed she was going to be sick. We both ordered tacos with teas. We'd knocked down the queso dip and had just started on plates when she went to take a drink and found a cockroach floating in her glass. There was still some life in it.
Needless to say we both stopped eating and waited for server to finally make her way around. We pointed out the situation. I stated we're leaving the meal. She said she was going to get the manager. Of course she came back and said the manager was gone. Or was just so unprofessional she didn't want to actually deal with a customer. We were not loud. Nor did we make a show out of it.
She didn't ask to compensate us or get our information to have the missing manager contact us back. We got up and left. The wife is heart broken and dearly upset to have another resturant (her favorite) removed from our list of below standard places to enjoy a meal in Hobbs.
Okay people, when do we start realizing that this type of service and poor quality hinders this fine city? What happened to professionalism? Customer satisfaction? I can't venture to say how much money we've spent there. Or how many people we've introduced to the place. But if that's how they treat a customer, let alone a repeat customer, we'll take our...
Read moreReally debated between 3 & 4 stars. I was not impressed at all with the two salsas and chips. The fresh salsa was spicy but lacked any other flavor. The other salsa was super runny and tasted like tomato soup. The chips were stale and about 40% of the basket was filled with half inch fragments. Now for the good stuff. The cheese enchiladas were tasty and well made. The kids bean burrito was accepted by the small burrito connoisseur. The star of the whole meal was the sopapilla with the "stuffed" sopapilla plate. It was a perfect golden pillow of light fluffy fried dough. Basically everything you want in a sopapilla. I put quotations on "stuffed" though because it was stuff-your-own-sopapilla. The plate came with the perfect sopapilla and the fillings under an enormous pile of shredded lettuce. I managed to put a bunch of the lettuce in the sopapilla, but ended up leaving 80% of it on the plate. I see other complaints about service. The service wasn't particularly poor by Hobbs standards. Of course Hobbs standards are pretty low to begin with, but...
Read moreWe had the beef stuffed sopapillas and the flautas plate. With a side of large guacamole. The problem started when our food arrived. The sopapilla was not cooked correctly it was nothing but nasty half cooked dough inside. And the flautas were the size of a pencil. When we commented on the size of the flautas having changed. Waitress snapped back they have always been that way. If fact they have not. I regularly go by in the drive thru for my guacamole and side of flautas. I did not argue. We ate there only 3 weeks earlier and the same with the sopapillas being cooked wrong and the waitress being sour. The food was ok but it has changed and not for the better. Waitress also never came back to our table after delivery of food she chose to stand by the kitchen and...
