Good home-made food, especially for breakfast. However, when inquired about oatmeal, it comes out of a packet. Oatmeal is cheap and easy to keep and make in a crockpot. I would recommend that they do that. The breakfast burrito with swiss and basil was excellent; fresh, and hot with the cheese melted throughout. Fresh garden veggies on top. A short coffee in a mug looks like more and served in a euro-style ceramic cup than the paper cup, so I was happy with that. The hash browns were very good but had the artificial aftertaste of margarine, so I would change that to regular canola oil or even olive oil would make it stand out without the aftertaste. The turkey sausage patties were an excellent brand. There are not enough places to sit without sharing. Two women were holding seats with their coats and one couple with a baby and a toddler took up a table for 6, by spreading their gear everywhere! We ended up sitting with a very cordial senior couple. So, we ended up making some new friends. Also, our small order took 20 mins. to make;that did not include the drinks order. Browns, sausage, and eggs should be ready to go on the griddle. The baristas were very quick with coffee and juice though. I would highly recommend Perfect Cup, since a decent non-chain restaurant/café is very difficult to find in Delaware. Their price points are really doable for anyone. However, just be prepared to wait (I have been other days and times not busy and still slow) and to share a table on the weekends...
Read moreNot sure why anyone would bother coming here. If you ask any questions about where their food comes from, you'll be sorely disappointed. Their "house baked" muffins are just packaged pre-mixed batter squeezed in a pan. Their hummus comes from a jar. Their roast beef comes pre-cooked, pre-sliced. Even their turkey, which they brag about roasting themselves, just comes as a pre-seasoned, plastic wrapped block that they just toss in an oven. Make no mistake, nothing you eat here is even close to being cooked from scratch. When I spend my hard earned money on a restaurant, I expect a little more than dumping premade food out of a box.
Also, celiacs beware. If you order anything gluten free from their menu, it's probably contaminated. They cook their gluten free pancakes on the same surface as everything else without sanitizing and even stack them right next to wheat pancakes and bread. That's just lazy and shows a lack of respect for their customers' food safety.
Another warning sign is the smell. The whole place smells like a dirty grease trap. Definitely not what I imagine when I walk into a cafe. I expect smells of coffee and fresh baked pastries, and instead it's burnt oil and smoke. Had breakfast here and still had the smell in my hair and clothes when I went home in the afternoon. Another sign of laziness. If they can't be bothered to keep the clean their greasy cooktops, think about how dirty the food is.
Be warned. Spend your money at a better...
Read moreWe saw this place as we were passing by and was hoping to get an average cup of coffee. Once inside I was intreged by the selection of deserts!!! My wife and I decided to split a BLT and one of the raspberry and lemon treasures.. and two very large mugs of delious coffe... Big mistake ! . We deceided to eat the desert while waiting for our BLT and soon realized that this was not just a good desert.. it was absolutely shocking.. my wife and I looked at each other with the realation that we would be fighting each other over each bite. The fork cut easily into the creamy top and parted the desert through it's rasberry middle and then down to the soft fuffy base.. I'm not sure how many layers it was but when I placed the fork in my mouth I heard Angels sing! It was a soft sweetness with a tart lite lemon squirt across my tounge.. then as I moved the desert in my mouth another scense emerged.. till finally at the end the rasberry exploded. I looked at my wife and avised her one was not enough! Then came the BLT...perfect! .. I will be back to the place many more times. Also the prices were very fair. The staff was kind and friendly. Theeasest 5 starts...
