Corner Cove Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Hockessin, Delaware

What a great place! Our pizza was excellent and at a reasonable price; the atmosphere is rustic, and the restaurant is nicely laid out and clean. Bigger inside than I thought it would be based on the storefront size. It is deep and there is also an upstairs loft with a separate bar and tables. Looking forward to trying the other menu items. Check out the cool stables (empty) you can see from the loft.

Our bartender Kristen was friendly and attentive, as were other employees there. Good feedback about Corner Cove from others we met at the bar. Great to have a new place in the Hockessin area to have fun for a date with my wife or to meet friends.

Now for the best part. Before opening they advertised having cheap beer. I'm a beer connoisseur and love IPA's. So I assumed the "cheap" beer would be Miller Light or similar. Well yes, Miller Light is only $3 for a pint, but the Cape May IPA was only $5 for a pint. Other restaurants nearby sell similar beer for up to $9. No happy hour that I know of, but the all-day price for a beer is cheaper than other restaurants we visit. I recall the other beers on tap being Yuengling, Blue Moon, Peroni and Goose Island IPA. Many bottled beers as well, and also a full bar with wine and liquor. I really hope they do not raise their beer prices anytime soon!

This will be a new go-to place for us and with friends, and they do take reservations.

Only complaint: need to advertise more and need a website to show menus, etc. I updated their opening time on Google, which is noon every day.

We have been excited for Corner Cove to open and it lives up to the excitement. The atmosphere is great with old stables on the second floor and the great bar with TVs all around. What was even better was the service. The wait staff is new and the owner was helping by running drinks and food and checking orders. Even though the waitress was new, she still did a phenomenal job.

The best part of Corner Cove was the food. We were very spoiled by having the recently closed George's in town but Corner Cove drastically exceeded our expectations especially with the seafood. The calamari was delicious and not chewy. The clams with white sauce were better than George's and that is saying something! The marinara sauce that came with the mussels was amazing and both the clams and mussels were filled with so much meat. The pizza got the stamp of approval from my youngest son.

We ate to our hearts content ordered four adult beverages and our bill was less than $100 for four people. We will be coming back often!!! We hope they add outside seating and live music to round out an overall amazing experience. Welcome to Hockessin...

This is absolutely the worst service I’ve ever had. This was our third selection of the night since other restaurants were booked. We sat at the bar ordered a house salad, chicken cheesesteak, and prime rib sandwich. Silverware, salt and pepper, and ketchup had to be requested multiple times and not offered upon service. We watched as the bartenders played on their phones.

We had our first rounds of drinks. My wife asked for her second drink and the bartender said he didn’t feel comfortable serving us another round. She has a health condition that causes her to have involuntary movements- Parkinson’s disease.

The most insulting part is, we watched a party adjacent to us on their fourth round with shots and espresso martinis.

In addition, the service was on par with the typical fast food restaurant only slow and tasteless.
