Bojangles — Restaurant in Hollins

Excellent food but service leaves something to be desired!!! First time I was here was about 5 months ago. My family and I had never been to a Bojangles so we decided to give it a try. The food was excellent for a "fast food joint". The service on the other hand was mixed. On the positive side, when we got to the counter there was an older black lady who served us. I informed her that we had never been to a Bojangles and asked for recommendations. She was so polite and accommodating, our entire meal was base on her recommendations, she saved us some money by telling us about a special and even came to our table later to see how we liked our food! She was awesome, an A+ employee. On the other hand there was a young guy, (late tend,early 20's) switching out the trash . I watched him take the trash bag from one of the bins furthest away from us, lay it on the ground, pause, look at his phone, stare at the front counter, stare out the window, look at the bag, stare at the front counter again, then finally pick up the bag. It took so long it was slightly comical, I remember thinking "this kid hates his job". Then he came to the bin closest to our table and repeated the process. Again he took so long and showed so much discontent that my 16yr old daughter actually commented "this guy hates his job" and we laughed when I told her I had just thought the same a few minutes earlier 🤦‍♂️😂. I didn't comment at the time because the older lady was so awesome that I just thought to myself maybe he was just having a bad day. No harm, no foul Now today. We went through the drive thru and ordered a tailgate. I ordered an extra side and ask for a variety of sauces because I did not remember what kind they had. We get back to our hotel and realized not only is there not a single sauce but the side we ordered was not included. I called to make sure they didn't close before we got back (it's a 16min drive) and that we wouldn't have any issue grabbing the side they forgot. We get there, go through the drive thru and tell them we're here for the side, the lady tells it's too pull around. When she hands me the side, I ask if we can get a little more gravy, they had only given its a very tiny portion for all the food we had ordered. She tells me I will have to pay for it, mind you at the end of this I will have driven 32min out of my way for because of their mistake, but I don't cause a fuss and tell her it's not a problem I'll pay. So here where things go a little off. I ask her for sauces, she ask what kind, I remind her that like I said early I don't remember what sauces they have and ask her to just throw a variety in the bag, she persist to list every sauces with an attitude, I say yes, she says which one, I says all of them, she grabs a few with her hands and extends it out the window (doesn't put them in a bag or anything) and hold her hand there rolling hey eyes. 6/18/24 - it's time for another review. Sadly, I've removed a star from my former review. Not because of the food; it's great. And, not because of the employees. They're great too. I removed because they have consistently failed at one basic rule of fast food restaurants. Wash the ketchup packets. Customers shouldn't get sticky hands from squeezing ketchup out of the packets. Not too mention the drive thru customer that attempts to eat their French fries with ketchup while driving.

You're better than this Bojangles. Act like it! ----- End of update-----

It's time for me to update my former review. I have been back several times since my original review and they have improved. I changed from 2 stars to 4 stars (I don't give 5 stars easily). I can tell that the management read their reviews and take action to make things better. No more wrong orders and no more nasty ketchup packets.

Original review: It's good food but they need to pay attention to details. Got order wrong. Skimped on melted cheese on Cajun Cheddar Melt.

This visit still skimped on the cheddar. Worst of all, nasty ketchup packs. Bonus it the extreme desire to wash hands after picking up the ketchup. ...

Had enough of this one. After 4 years of forgiveness I am done. Every time I go here I use the drive through and every single time they ask me to wait before taking my order. Not politely either, more like I'm bothering them just by being there. They can't understand my order no matter how loud I speak or clearly I enunciate. I've waited 5 minutes just to order and 10 more sitting there with one car ahead of me. No apologies ever, just a blank stare from some smug snowflake who probablythinks they should get paid $50K to make me terrible fries. The tipping point is really that the food is usually old, cold, and dry. If we do get hot fries we usually grab a lottery ticket too because we feel that lucky. Tonight's fries were the typical soggy garbage though and the wait was the typical 10 minutes, so I'm trying to do Daleville and the general public a favor by writing this review. ...
