Coffee on the Rocks — Restaurant in Hollister

First off, I ordered the drip coffee and Belgain Waffel! The coffee was okay. It was stronger than I like it, but I was able to drink it black just fine. Most people,I think prefer their coffee a little stronger than it was. But before we ordered we were informed that they were out of express coffee??? Now this is a coffee establishment and I was planning on ordering a latte, but without the right coffee for it, a latte is just a sweetened coffee which I don't like. The waffle was good, it was just so small, no more than a 3" round and I think it was even smaller than that. It was not served on a plate, but rather in a folded cardboard container that would have made it a challenge to eat with a fork and knife. Those who went with me all ordered the egg and cheese croissant that was also served in a cardboard container. It was not a croissant!!! It was a thick round roll that was a bunch and not the light flacky croissant! My nefew ordered his coffee with a single pump of flavoring and apparently if was way over filled with that flavoring. Mannn we’ve tried to like this place but just had bad experiences 4 different times now. A few of my friends have also not had great experiences. Most recently I ordered a cold brew (came to 7.50!$) but I was treating myself so I paid it..and waited for the coffee…and waited and waited. 20 minutes later myself and a few other patrons walked up to the counter and finally a worker said it would be a “few more minutes”, another patron asked how many minutes a few was and he said 15-20. For a simple coffee?! No apologies or anything.

I asked for a refund at that point and they had to get the owner to do it. No apologies no explanation but I got my money back. Really wanted to like this place, it’s nice inside and has a nice porch outside. My friends also have ordered from here recently and weren’t impressed and my husband ordered a nitro cold brew last month and it was only half full but they said that was normal?? And he paid like 6$ for it. It was maybe 4 oz. But we let it go because we thought maybe that’s just normal for them? Just...

Atmosphere would get a 10 if possible! Food was fantastic and the drinks were absolutely wonderful!

Wife: Rustic Pine and sausage egg cheese croissant, 8/10 would make small modifications to drink next time.

Daughter(16): Oreo Crumble and bacon egg cheese croissant, 7/10 she would modify drink to have less chocolate for her preference.

Son(13): Cinnamon Toast Crunch and sausage egg cheese garlic wrap, 9/10 he would go without the whipped topping next time.

Me (Dad): Mountain Lion and sausage egg cheese spinach wrap, 10/10 wrap was excellent and salsa had a nice kick without being overpowering, drink was excellent with a nice espresso kick and just sweet enough to be enjoyed.

An amazing local gem deserving of your time. Found this by searching through google maps while here on vacation. This place makes the green mermaid look like the golden arches!
