Japanese Kitchen — Restaurant in Hollister

I have been going to this restaurant for many years now and have always enjoyed it, the service I use to get was excellent when Ashley was there she would go above and beyond for customers and if you asked for extra sauce she would deliver it with a smile on her face. However I went last week and it was the complete opposite service was awful they acted like I was a inconvenience being there. The sushi wasn't as good as it was before. I asked for extra sauce for each of our meals and they brought enough for 1. I sure will miss going there but I won't be back after the way they made me feel just by being there to eat a meal. When they lost Ashley they lost an amazing employee that made you feel like family it's such a shame that she felt she had to leave because of how the owner treated her and spoke to his employees, which I have also witnessed. Contrary to how it looks on the outside, this place is fantastic. I've been going there for almost 6 years every date night and I order takeout often yet not a single time have I been disappointed with the quality of the food! They got rid of the mean server they had a couple years ago, they brought back sushi, and they treat us like family every time they see us. Ashley is fantastic, always enthusiastic and asks how my family is, always is genuine and friendly. The sushi chef always rises to the occasion and gives us the best sushi I've ever had. We tried venturing out for date night to other places but we're always disappointed and regret it because nowhere else can compare. I’ve been a frequent (weekly at least) customer for 7 years now. I have never had one complaint about the food, even today. The food is amazing! However the service I received tonight was not. The 3 waitresses were stingy, rude, and lazy. One visibly rolled her eyes at me for asking for extra teriyaki sauce after I asked and she brought 1 sauce for the 4 meals I purchased. She said “this is all I can give you.” I don’t mind paying for the extra sauce at all but I had to ask 3 times for it. Ashley always had it covered and never acted this way or said anything similar.
