Called in for a large pepperoni pizza at 3:41pm. Was told we could pick it up in 15 to 20 mins. So we arrive to pick up at 4pm. Walk in and tell the waitress we called in an order for Nic. I seen her check the oven to see if it was almost ready and when she opened it there was nothing in the oven..hmm..ok..She goes towards the back most likely to get the cook who probably was on her smoke break and I'm then told it will be another 10 minutes. No explanation of why (I knew it was because they forgot to put the order in. Seen it with my own eyes). So we wait in the car another 10 mins. Go back in and I'm ignored had to ask again how much longer and I'm told another 7 minutes..This is where I get aggravated. I wait another 7 minutes ( we are going on 45 mins at this time). I showed my cell to them just so they know I'm not crazy about the time I called in my order. They wouldn't even look up. I even said I have your # saved because we eat here alot..still don't care. I finally say all this is because you guys forgot to put our pizza in the oven..Still no response. Instead of them being like we're so sorry we forgot to put your order in. Here's Garlic knots on the house or take $5 off my order. Something..Say something to me and they said nothing. They wouldn't even acknowledge that they forgot to cook my pizza. They made me seem like I was the butt hole. I never once got nasty inside of the restaurant but I had had enough at this point. I've always liked Goombas from when they opened. I like their pizza. But no more will I go back there. Their service is the worst I've ever seen. Nobody would take blame for anything that happened. We ended up waiting 55 minutes total for a 20 minute wait and there were no other orders in the restaurant. No customers.. no tickets up on the board.. just us. They even had me pay 55 minutes before my pizza was done and I put money in their tip jar. Little did I know it would be such a fiasco. I would never of tipped them. Why was it so hard for them to admit their mistake. They were in the wrong not me. Unreal....
Read moreMy mother passed away five years ago. I would get her favorite pizza in OH for her, and drive it down to FL in a cooler. She also was crazy about lasagna. Here I thought I was pretty much through the grieving process. Short story long and as embarrassing as it is to write in a review- I can’t say I’ve ever balled my eyes out when eating pizza and lasagna. I got a deep dish Sicilian pizza (popped a slice in the oven as I prefer a crispier crust) and when I tried it- well, that’s the closest thing I’ve tasted to my mom’s favorite pizza without going to OH. I lost it unexpectedly. It’s a sweeter sauce and different and better than the others out there, hence why I would drive down a similar type of pizza from OH to FL for my mother while she was in the nursing home. It’s not just the sauce- the pizza itself, the lasagna- everything. It really is good. My mom would always compare everything to that place in OH and was never quite satisfied with anything else. So for me to randomly have a flyer on my door for a new place around the corner, that happens to serve food that my picky mother would’ve freaked out over- well, I’m just happy that family owned businesses are still doorknocking for business. I probably never would’ve ordered from here as I don’t order a lot of carbs. I just respected their hustle and figured I’d give it a try. The lady on the phone was so nice and helpful when ordering. Delivery was perfect. At least Goombas can say now that they make food so good, it’ll make you cry your eyes out in the best of ways.
Best of luck to you and your new business. I hope it blows up. At the very least, I know it has my...
Read moreEverything you want in an Italian restaurant. Welcoming, ntimate, family-orientated, welcoming, quality ingredients made with love and care.
We had a white pizza but then changed it out by adding Alfredo sauce and vegetables. My son ordered a meatball calzone. Homemade meatballs. My daughter ordered her usual cheese pizza. This is not your frozen delivery pizza, dethawed. This is made from scratch, full of garlic Italian love. I couldn’t stop eating the marinara. It was divine. I mean who eats marinara? You are suppose to dip it.
My husband ordered the minestrone and said it was one of the very best minestrone he has had.
They do deliver within 5 miles of the establishment. If the lights are on, they are open. I would suggest calling ahead if you are going to have a large group so they can be ready.
Prices are reasonable since it is almost all scratch and takes more time. They use quality ingredients and cheeses.
They do have a cauliflower pizza crust. It’s very hard to accommodate gluten allergies but will try their best.
Big thanks to Ashley, our wonderful server and chef. Just what a warm, welcoming, kind and salt of the...
