Located on Sheridan Street in the Oakwood Plaza Shops, JoJo's NY Style Pizza is a small business that not only offers different sizes of whole pizza from 14" to Brooklyn 20", but they also have specialty pizzas, calzones, Stromboli, Panini, pasta & baked dinners, salads, hot subs, chicken wings, side orders, cold drinks, and New York cheese cake as the only dessert. JoJo's sells pizza by the slice for a little over $3. If you want extra toppings on it, it's $0.50. Lunch specials are offered as well as week day specials.
Now remember, I said the place is small. How small? So small, as you walk in you're in front of the counter. But that didn't matter, I was warmly greeted as I came in and ordered my cheese slice. The female employee handed me the take out menu and answered any questions I had about the food. In less than five minutes, she handed me my pizza slice enclosed in a box with a few napkins and thanked me for stopping by.
As I sat in my vehicle, I opened the box and grabbed the big cheese slice which was nice & hot, and folded it in half (as only a New Yorker would eat a big slice) as I bit into it. It was totally delicious. With other pizza places as you bite into the slice you have to worry about the oil dripping out...not with JoJo's pizza, the tomato sauce & cheese was evenly applied to the thin crust. They also place a small container of parmesan cheese with the slice if you want to add it. Definitely coming back to JoJo's, they have Philly...
Read moreReview of Jojo’s NY Style Pizza - Hollywood Jojo’s NY Style Pizza in Hollywood is a gem for anyone craving a solid slice or a quick, satisfying meal. I recently ordered a pepperoni and mushroom pizza, and it was nothing short of outstanding. The crust had that perfect balance of crispy and chewy, with a generous layer of sauce that was tangy and well-seasoned. The toppings were fresh, and the pepperoni added just the right amount of savory kick. It’s the kind of pizza that reminds you why NY-style is a classic—every bite was a delight. We also tried their double cheeseburger, which was wonderful in its own right. The patties were juicy, and the bun held up nicely, but I found it a touch under-seasoned for my taste. That said, I noticed they had a variety of seasonings available at the counter, which I foolishly overlooked during my visit. My bad for not taking advantage of those to give it that extra zing! The staff at Jojo’s were a highlight—super friendly and welcoming, making the carry-out experience smooth and pleasant. Speaking of which, this spot is strictly delivery and carry-out, so don’t expect a dine-in vibe. It’s perfect for grabbing a quick meal to enjoy at home or on the go. Overall, Jojo’s delivers (pun intended) on quality and flavor. I’ll definitely be back for more of that stellar pizza, and next time, I’ll be sure to sprinkle on some of those counter seasonings for the burger. Highly recommend giving this place a try if you’re in the...
Read moreUpdate- I am not an employee of Domino's as you can see the owner proclaims. Further more confirming the unprofessionalism at this establishment. Note I did not state anything regarding their food I stated I have never had it. It was merely about the unprofessional behavior I witnessed
I was in the plaza on 9/21/2019 around 9pm, originally my plan was to try this shop as I never have before. Before I even got out of my car I seen employees from this establishment go to the Domino's next door harrassing them by pounding on the windows and giving the Domino's employees the middle finger. I sat there for a while in such shock of everything that was going on. I seen a man have to bring in cases of water so Domino's could continue business. Fromy what I over heard this establishments employees went and turned the water off on Domino's. I seent the police have to come numerous times. From what I heard being told to the police officers it all was because Domino's driver parked in front of Jojo's shop. This is changed my mind immediately about getting food from there. This was disgusting behavior what makes it worse is it looked like Jojo's employees were adults acting in this manor and Domino's was teens. The behavior, languages and immature that happened last night was not professional at all. I will never attempt to try this establishment nor recommend anyone else does. The owner should be very furious with...
