It's ridiculous to see nationwide commercial promos and receive local printed coupons in the mail, but the 1 franchisee of all La Crosse area Subways decides they are too cheap to honor it.

THE EMPLOYEE TIM COMPLAINED TO THE CUSTOMERS WHILE MAKING THEIR SANDWICH THAT "SUBWAY BREAD HAS SO MUCH SUGAR IN IT THAT IT WOULD BE BANNED IN EUROPE AND BASICALLY SHOULDN'T BE CATEGORIZED AS GRAIN BREAD..." Dude, could you actively try any harder to drive away customers than to tell them it's not healthy?? Isn't Subway trying to be portrayed as the healthier option?? Tim's attitude is terrible on multiple occasions. The older lady on Sundays yells at everyone, too.
The latest level of stupidity at the Holmen Subway is when they posted this short list of 9 "allowable sandwiches for coupons" on the drive-through ordering screen it says "Please present coupons BEFORE you start to order." UMM, HOW CAN I PRESENT THE COUPON ON THE DRIVE-THROUGH BEFORE ORDERING? DRIVE AROUND TWICE?!!? I hit the help button and the employee told me to just come to pickup window. I asked how I could possibly present the coupon before ordering and they said, "Yeah we dont know." She just wrote out my order on paper with pencil.
We all get inflation, but $13 for 1 footlong sandwich only, is crazy! That's not even a combo meal with chips or a drink!

Read moreFreshness -10, service -20, atmosphere -10. Walked in and every table had crumbs on it. The time we went was not busy. Only one person ahead of us. Not a subway fan but family wanted a quick and easy bite. Personally, I would rather have gone to cozy coffee or Mike’s sandwiches. We had coupon with our order. We had planned to pay separately so we could each use our coupons since the manager had a harsh rule about combining them with each paid order. Regardless if there were multiple meals within that order. The lady saw all of come into together. She accepted one of the coupon and rejected the rest. She told us since we all are together, we cannot each use a coupon with our meals. Her tone of voice was not professional. We suggested to pay separately and refused to honor that idea. We didn’t want to waste anymore time arguing with this lady and left. If management continues to treat local loyal customers like this, they will go out of business down the road.
In the past, I have witness their employees arguing with each other and treating each other disrespectful in front of the customers. In one occasion, a staff was complaining about corporate not staffing appropriately.
Overall, unprofessional customer service. Instead of accommodating customers and earning their loyalty, they care too much about pinching penny. Management need to train their staff to treat each other with professionalism and respect. Any sort of disagreement should be done behind the scene and not in front of customer. Management need to take better care of their workers and staff appropriately to prevent disgruntled workers. It’s awkward to listen to their complaints when we just want our sandwich and go about our business. I recommend this place to do better if they want to earn the trust and loyalty of the locals. Editing my previous review to add that the night time staff is lazy I tried to go back in to allow them to redeem them selves and every attempt I’ve made has been a fail due to the night/afternoon staff being too lazy to put in the Italian herbs and cheese bread. I actually asked this time because I’ve tried a few different times to go in and get a sub and she said that don’t make it in the afternoons because it allows them to have a slow night so they are deliberately causing the restaurant to lose out on business because they are lazy and they have admitted it them self’s. Right out of the mouth of the lady with the pigtail braids and glasses that is always wearing the Sunday bandana over her hair! Hope...
