This was my first time at Features—we sat in the restaurant. The place looks very nice and clean and definitely “family.” There are roomy benches to sit on while you wait to be seated at a table—it’s way popular on a Friday night. The service is very attentive and friendly. I had a triple berry Margarita on the rocks and a bloody Mary. The bloody Mary was too spicy for me but I liked that it had a pickle, sausage, a green olive, and (I think) two types of cheese. My coffee was also good and the cream tasted fresh. We got cheese cheese curds, which were very good, and I ordered the batter fried walleye. My son ordered a cheeseburger with bacon—we both had french fries. He really liked his burger—it looked delicious—and both of us agreed that the fries were good. I was given a salad and a dinner roll with my meal. I liked that there were no yucky carrots in my salad and I also appreciated how thick the dressing was because usually when I’ve been to a family style restaurant the dressing has been watered down—not here. My only regret is that I ate half of the cheese curds and some of the salad and half of the bun and I drank both of my drinks, so I was completely too full to enjoy the walleye. I might have had at most 3/4 of one piece—you get two very generous sized pieces. Obviously, there was no room for dessert. I don’t even know what they offer. Next time, and there will be a next time, I will not fill up like that before my dinner arrives. They advertise being voted as having the area’s number one battered fried fish, and they’re not kidding. All the...
Read moreI used to recommend Features all the time. Last two times there no one wanted to wait on me. 11:30 an on Saturday morning(12/17). Not close to being busy. Short brunette waitress looked at me three times, high school blonde waitress served the table one from me. Two bartenders could have asked. After 15 minutes I got up and left. Very sad. would have spent $30 this am and would have purchased 2 gift cards. Used to be one of my favorite spots. SERVICE, OR LACK THEREOF, IS TERRIBLE. Sorry, I will not be back anytime soon.
UPDATED 9/30/2024. Stopped in again on Saturday afternoon. James, the exact same thing happened for a 3rd time! Front door girl sat us in the bar and said someone would be with us soon. 2: 30 pm - middle of the day. Server walked by us 4x and never acknowledged us or said "I'll be with you in a minute" She continued to clean tables. Bartender could have asked but she was too busy talking with bar patrons. Are customers that disposable at Features in Holmen? I really like your place but come on! After 10 minutes of being ignored we got up and went somewhere else. I guess I will go across the street or go the Red Pines from now on. Very disappointed. I used to think better of your...
Read moreStopped in tonight, Thursday, about 6:00 so unfortunately we missed happy hour. Although we don't know what those specials were. Regardless my mom ordered a 16oz Coors Light... it was a reasonably priced $4.00 so a good value for the regular price. I liked that the bar and restaurant area were separated. I asked our friendly server Deanne if she had any recommendations? She offered the Southwest Chicken Salad, French Dip and I forget which burger. To which I jokingly replied: well you're useless...those all sound delicious! ha. My mom opted for the Smokehouse burger with fries. It said it was 6oz but looked pretty big. With her fries and beer she only ate half of it. I asked for a kids menu. Deanne said "I'm really not supposed to do that." To which I replied "I have a health card" she said she didn't need to see it, but I insisted. I opted for a kids cheeseburger. How fun; it came w either applesauce or pudding?! When I said pudding, I then got to choose: chocolate or vanilla? My burger was delicious and like my mom said "the fries are crispy." Thanks Deanne for the friendly and helpful service and Features for a delicious...
