"THERE'S A NEW CAJUN SPOT IN HOLYOKE!?" - This was me, for months before finally getting a chance to grab some takeout, and I was super excited, I maybe had unreasonably high expectations, but not gonna lie, they were exceeded. While my Cajun experience isn't too too significant, I have been to New Orleans a few times, I have a baseline understanding of the cuisine. With my first order at Springdale, I had the chef's special, which was softshell crab with crawfish & rice. It was delicious and the portion was generous. It came with cornbread which was top notch tasty, and I also grabbed a side of fried Okra, which was cooked nicely and came with a couple tasty dipping sauces. My wife had the chicken pasta dish, and I'm usually kind of bored with chicken dishes, but the flavor was really excellent and I will definitely order it in the future - I am looking forward to working my way through the whole menu. If you're a fan of Cajun food, you'll like this spot. If you're not an adventurous eater, I think you'll still be down. Nothing was too outrageous, but the whole spread from what I've tried so far was really flavorful. The staff were also super friendly and helpful. Support local spots, especially with the pandemic affecting folks. Good food, good people, fair prices,...
Read moreSpringdale Lunch is a gem of a spot! A tiny dining area with an open kitchen makes every meal feel like you’re eating in your friend’s kitchen. A local flow of diners and take out customers that all seem to know Ari the owner, chef, and hostesses, make for an inviting experience where people regularly talk with other patrons and Ari. The food is excellent with the menu being mostly Cajun cuisine ( jambalaya, po boy’s , gumbo, etc.) that said, Ari puts her own take on other comfort foods like burgers, pasta and quesadillas with a Cajun flair to round out the menu . This is a Holyoke must that you will miss if you blink while driving down main street. Highly...
Read moreWe randomly stumbled across this place. We just returned from a 7 day road trip to natchez Mississippi, which is just minutes from Louisiana. I was thinking wow we won't be experiencing that southern hospitality for a while. But low and behold we had a little taste of the big easy right here! There was one girl cooking, and serving everyone's food! She was fast and the food was good! It's a byob joint too. All my friends had been trying to get me to Big Mamou's but they were closed by the time I was ready. My bro told me that the owner used to work there and this is same vibe. It was an amazing experience . I...
