Gorgeous breakfast food.

I asked a local where to eat a good breakfast, and that brought me here. Coffee is just pretty good for drip, not exceptional, but good & on the strong side. Not weak. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Black peppercorn & sea salt grinders on the table. An excellent business move, so the waitstaff doesn't have to collect & refill the containers. An excellent culinary move, it shows confidence in the food being served & the desire to showcase it with top notch seasonings, not stale basic shakers!

I asked for my hashbrowns extra crisp with jalapeños in them. Hashbrowns were great & extra crisp & jalapeños were cooked, but I think they were sprinkled on top. And not very many. Oh well! It tasted very good, and I like it crisp. Large portion, spread thin on the plate!

The biscuits & gravy was even better. The imperfectly shaped biscuits tell me they're definitely made in house, they were so soft & fell apart when I touched them with the fork. It was just smothered in gravy, all of it; the gravy was half smooth & RICH milk-base gravy, half medium-fine crumbled sausage, and 100% delicious. Very well done!! And super filling. A great start to my day.

Got the check & the jalapeño add was a dollar, for maybe 8-9 jalapeño rings...10¢ per little ring...🤪 Perhaps that is a luxury best left skipped here!

Lindsey (sp?) was great, service was great, every 5-7 minutes I'd see a waitress chattering about the tables & asking if anybody needs a coffee refill. All good things that I like to see. This restaurant is a gem of a find & an asset to this charming little community! I'm just glad I don't live here because I'd eat here all the time & get fat. 😂

...And apparently if Lindsey sees you forgot your boxed to-go food, she'll snap it up & make sure you get it!! You...

Was my 2nd visit to this place the food is always made with fresh ingredients, and the portions always leave me with a good snack for later nice wait staff beer was fresh and crisp. I'll be there again soon. Heck maybe tomorrow

Today I stopped in to the Platte River Inn for a burger and beer I was quickly attended to although my server was condenseding in nature and rude. I ordered a beer and bowl of chili as an appetizer ,French fries and 1/2# jalapeño burger. The chili was good with diced celery, onion, hamburger, kidney beans, diced stewed tomatoes seasoned with cumin and chilipowder. The fries were Luke warm skin on straight cut floppy fries they were ok id cook them longer and serve them hot you know the cook dropped and pulled the fries too early. The burger was good the tomatoe slices were unexceptional they actually put hard crunchy tomato end slices the green butt part on my sandwich. dose anyone like eating that? Try using tomato ends in the diced tomatoes mixed in, your welcome furthermore things like serving tomato butts got passed the cooks and wate staff. My replacement slices of tomato was flawless why was that not put on my sandwich in the first place? Ok anyhow, the burger was between a nice regular white Bunn lettuce and tomato cooked properly and topped with caramelized onion and jalapeños & melted Swiss not too spicy taste pretty good. All in all id come back price is good food is ok servers rude well mine...

Waited 15 Min to be seated. Not bad. Then waited 10 minutes to have our order taken, not too bad, but from that point it took an hour and 10 min before we got our food. The server was awesome checking on us regularly and giving updates on our food's arrival. However her estimates were way off. About 20 min in she offered us a basket of peanuts for our patients and kindness. A whike later she offered a some popcorn. I'm Alergic but still a nice jester. Then a while later she offered some clam chowder. I not a fan but again very nice of hervto offer. . She said our food was the next ticket and it would be worth the wait. That they had a rush in the dining area and apologized. The food arrived 70 min after we ordered and it was the worse meal we have had in a long time. My husband ordered the perch basket and I ordered the boneless Buffalo strips basket with blue cheese dressing. The chicken was dry and tough, the fries wilted, the fish overcooked and oily. The blue cheese dressing was tangy like range but it wasn't ranch and had no resemblance of blue cheese, not in taste, site or consistency. It may have been an off night but we are not...

We stayed at the Platte River Campground and asked for a recommendation from some park rangers for a dinner location. Platte River Inn was suggested and we drove over to Honor and hunted the restaurant down. As a mom, this was my favorite place we ate at due to the fantastic service and the HUGE portion sizes. We did not leave hungry. We ordered the cheesy bread appetizer and I suggest you do the same if you have taste buds. You can thank me later. Our food was fresh and delicious and the restaurant was clean and welcoming. We had planned to cook the next night at our campsite but due to incoming storms we decided to have an early dinner in town….so we went back to the Platte River Inn again. Main reason? Susan, the owner. Our first evening there she was so welcoming and friendly to us and our children. She gave them a bag of popcorn when we left which made our 4 year old feel like he won the lottery. She spent time with us and chatted about life and camping. Susan, if you read this, keep doing what you’re doing. Platte River Inn is an asset to the community but also to camping visitors. Thanks for the coffee Susan. 😘- Hannah
