I tried to order dinner from 3 of the 4 SAW’s in town. I have eaten at SAW’s before and know the food to be good. However, I called the Dunston location and it rang busy - no worries tried again in a few mins, same thing. Got it to ring on the third try and it just rang until some lame 1970’s era VM picked up that wasn’t even setup - asked me for a code. Thinking this was an error, I called back and got the same thing. Being on 280 I called the Homewood location and it also rang and rang with no one picking up. Tried it again, same thing. So....I drove over there since I was close and parked right in front. I saw the restaurant was empty and curious, I called from my car sitting in front so I could see the results - exactly the same, ring no answer. So I walked in and a woman dragged herself to the register. I said I would like to order “The Colonel” to go and she looked at me like I had lost my mind. I said “you know, the chicken sandwich?” Again, blank stares and no attempt to understand. In what can only now be described as being a glutton for punishment I called the 41st Street location, who to their credit picked up and without saying hello or anything said “hold please” (she did say please but the tone was more: Hold...please hang up). She had already put the phone down before I could say OK and I know this because I could hear her cutting up and joking with other folks there. After 4 minutes I hung up and thought “this is crazy! How can a business survive this way?” Wanting to see how far this would go, I called back and again was told “hold, please” and the phone cast aside. Luckily for me, she came back in about a minute and asked for my order. I told her and she said “We are out of chicken”. Flabbergasted, I said “really?” She said yes AND THEN HUNG UP! So....I am enjoying my chicken sandwich from Little Donkey tonight - it’s delicious and more importantly - available.
Clearly some growing pains at SAW’s and they need a new technology solution for their phone situation - that’s what I do - Call me SAW’s!! I can fix...
Read moreNever had there food before, was really looking forward to it. Well I wanted my wife to bring me something. I wanted a chicken plate with green beans and Mac and cheese. Well when she called me to ask what I want, with her and her dad dining in. I said the same thing... well they said they had no Mac & cheese Because it was all sold out. They also said they do not sell green beans. Which if you look at their menu it says they do . So to say the least people telling me this was a great place Turned into not so great. So in the end they said they were closed at 8:17 when dining in and they where servings know more food. I wanted a to go plate my family had already been there at least 35 minutes before closing. I have worked in a restaurant for six years . If someone is dining in before closing regardless of it being after closing time. You do not turn down a to go order. I could go on forever but I suggest do not go to this place . Out of mac & cheese and they don’t sell green beans. How can you be out of mac & cheese . Also your menu says you sell green beans but you’re going to say you don’t make green beans. I have heard such good reviews about this place. My family goes and eats there all the time, but I have never been there. After all this I will never go eat...
