First of all I just want to say I'm so happy there are a few indan restaurants in the columbia gorge nowadays when we didn't have any before. This is my personal honest review but remember everyone is different! So take it with a grain of salt.
The staff was very nice each visit! And they did their jobs well serving us. Wait time wasn't bad. The place seems clean..Atmosphere is ok. Temperature first time I came here it was really hot(but it was hot outside) we came back on a warm day and was wishing I brought my jacket had goose bumps from being chilled lol.
First time coming here I had the chicken Biryani which I didn't care for the rice is too overwhelming on different spices for me personally but the chicken I loved. Now others rave about the chicken Biryani though. This was my first time trying this dish. I really loved the garlic cheesy naan and the spinach cheese naan though! Was the best naan we ever had. Reminded me of a quesadilla. I forget what my husband got was something like chicken GOA? I could be wrong on the name. It was very tasty in my opinion but it wasn't my husband's favorite he liked it okay though. My step son's girlfriend got a chicken curry that I sampled and I liked it so did she. We all shared 2 rice pudding desserts(I forget what it was called. The rice pudding was okay but wasn't a big fan personally I think it has anise in it? Or something that tastes similar to black licorice and I don't care for licorice so just my taste buds Our step son's girlfriend loved it though! She devoured the whole bowl.
2nd time coming here my husband had the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala both were good but we couldn't taste a difference in flavor between the 2. The tikka had some bell pepper and onion was the only difference we could tell. Asked for mild heat but couldn't taste it at all Next time i'll try medium or hot I think. The garlic cheesy naan this time barely had any cheese we had to look inside the naan to see if it was there because it was almost non existent but it was there just very light We were a little disappointed about the naan this time. If we get it again will make sure they hook us up with the cheese. It was still good just tasted like garlic naan though. The mango curry I took to go for later which I had some this morning I asked for mild spice and it definitely delivered a little heat which I was happy about. It was very tasty too spot on! Sweet but not too sweet. And definitely a dish I'll get again. I'd say it was a bit more spicy than mild though but not super spicy I would say more like medium so may not want to add spice if you like more mild I think. I like a little heat but I always start with mild as every place varies I don't like too spicy.
Overall I would recommend this place! But I think everyone you know has their preferences on dishes, as everyone's taste buds are different. Though I typically recommend trying butter chicken to people who are new to Indian food as it's a popular dish and not too in depth of spices but it can be rich in tomato.
My husband's and my favorite dishes we most usually like in Indian restaurants(though flavors will vary depending where you go) chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, chicken korma. Though we on occasion get chicken mango curry/mango lassi or lamb korma/masala. We are trying new things here and there though. And of course naan! We...
Read moreAmazing food and prompt friendly service. I ordered online and ended up arriving about ten minutes early but only had to wait a couple before my order was ready. I ordered kadai paneer, lamb korma, naan bread, a couple of drinks, and rasmalai for dessert. Everything was amazing. Lots of great flavors and textures happening. I was very pleased and my wife was too. One thing I will note as an fyi to other customers, if you choose the spice level of “hot” expect it to be that and then some. When they say hot they mean it. I enjoy spicy food but it was almost at the uppermost boundary of what I’m comfortable with. I liked it but if you have either not much or very little spice tolerance then definitely go with medium or mild spice level. I ordered the kadai paneer for my wife and went with mild but I sampled it and it was still slightly hot. I know very little about Indian cuisine though, so perhaps this dish is typically served spicy. If you shy away from spicy food perhaps the staff could steer you towards some milder selections. The service was polite and friendly and prices were fair. I would definitely recommend this place. A good Indian food restaurant was needed in the area and I’m glad they are here. I will be a...
Read moreGot a takeout order 7-24-24. First, no markings on any of the containers as to what was in them. But worse yet, we were shorted on our order as we did not receive the appetizer we ordered, the Chicken Seekh Kabob. Nor did we receive the Chicken Curry. The place was not busy. There was one other takeout order bag on the counter. And only two customers in the eating area. How do you not check the order when you’re not busy in the least. Recommend everyone check their takeout order before they leave the building.
*UPDATE 7-25-24 I wish to thank Deepak, the manager, for his efforts to address my concerns. He really went to great lengths to make things right, even offering a 50% discount on my next order. So I give him 5 stars *.
He was able to identify each of the dishes (which should have been done by way of writing on the containers). So apparently all of the order we placed was provided. Problem is, the pictures on the website ordering menu don't really reflect what the actual dishes look like. To me, that is a bit deceptive. So for the company in general and the quality, and in particular the food quantity, I can still only...
