Our tour of Phelps Creek Vineyards was everything we were hoping for and more. We had just gotten engaged and decided to branch out from the brewery tours to try a vineyard tour. Once we showed up it turned out that we were the only ones booked for that day, so we had our own private tour guided by Lynette. She was so helpful and knowledgeable about the process from beginning to end, and the tastings along the way were spectacular. Overall we enjoyed the tour so much that it will now be a staple anytime we visit Oregon again. I highly recommend Phelps Creek over some of the larger vineyards for a tour because it just feels so much more personal and quaint.
In addition to the tour, we signed up for their club membership for the wine packages. Being from Arizona we unfortunately cannot receive shipments during the summer months as it is too hot, but Becky is always super helpful by holding onto our summer order through those months so that we can enjoy them later. Overall, I can't begin to explain how much we have enjoyed our experiences with Phelps Creek and everyone we've had the opportunity to meet. And in case I haven't mentioned it yet the wine itself is fantastic as well, Oregon Pinot Noirs are among my favorites and they certainly...
Read moreWe just had our Dad's 80th Birthday on the Vineyard and it was an incredible experience! Lynette and Bob were the most gracious hosts and treated us like family. They were super accommodating with all my decorations and considerations for the comfort of our group - especially with Covid still on the mind! We were able to feel safe and secure while enjoying our family experience! They provided the canopies, tables and chairs. The Homestead Picnic area was beautifully picturesque with Hood in the distance as the backdrop for the Vineyard (on a clear day at least)!
And did I mention the wine? Lynette treated us to tastings of all their very best wines and had a special bottle waiting for my Dad when he arrived. I especially enjoyed the Chardonnay and brought a bottle home to remember our time! Quite a few of my family members bought additional bottles on our way out as we thanked Lynette for her hospitality!
The only thing to be aware of is that the drive up is very steep on a gravel road (to be expected at a Vineyard!) so bring your vehicle that can grip the road on the way up. But the reward at the top of the hill is MORE than worth it.
Just do it. Enjoy the wine and enjoy the view.
Thank you Lynette and team! The...
Read moreNot sure if it's because we were the youngest table by 20 years or because we rolled up in our adventure van, but I've never had such poor service at a wine tasting. Let me start by stating it was 3 PM on a Sunday and there were at most 3 other tastings happening at the same time. The woman leading the tastings completely ignored us, forgot what pour we were on TWICE, and had to be reminded that we were there several times. Honestly, the wines are fine, but I am so disappointed in the service. At least for me, a massive part of the experience is learning about the wines. We asked multiple questions to try to learn about where the grapes were from, how the wine was made, and she couldn't be bothered to answer in more than a few words. I think the frustrating part was that she took the time with everyone else around us, and seemed to be actively avoiding our table. Guess we will skip this one next time we are back...
